The 2020 Belmont Stakes was run Saturday, June 20 at Belmont Park. Pre-race favorite Tiz the Law won by nearly four lengths over Dr Post with Max Player showing in third. This page tracked the odds to win 2020 Belmont for all horses from the time they opened. The graph below was generated by averaging the odds from numerous online sports betting sites.

With COVID-19 pushing the Kentucky Derby to September, and Preakness to October, instead of competing with November’s Breeders Cup, New York racing officials opted to run the Belmont in June, and do so at a-mile-and-an-eighth, which essentially makes it a prep race for the Derby. Interestingly, at Belmont Park, that means it is only a one-turn race, which should benefit horses with early speed.
