We’re less than a week away from the launch of ESPN BET, and 17 states will welcome the new sportsbook powered by PENN Entertainment on Tuesday, November 14.
PENN Entertainment already had legal sports betting market access in these 17 states thanks to their previous operations that will now be rebranded as ESPN BET. The same launch time is expected to apply for all 17 states, however timing could differ depending on how each state rolls out the ESPN BET app.

ESPN Sportsbook App Launching in 17 States
PENN Entertainment is rebranding their previous sports betting platform, Barstool Sportsbook, to ESPN BET on Nov. 14. As such, they already had online sports betting licenses in 17 states, allowing for a massive rollout of the highly anticipated ESPN BET app.
Here are the 17 states ESPN BET will be launching in, along with the gaming commissions that had already awarded PENN Entertainment legal sports betting licenses.

Each of the 17 states in the table listed above will start getting access to ESPN BET on Nov. 14 at the expected launch time. You can trust ESPN BET in each of these states knowing they’re regulated by the gaming commissions that awarded PENN Entertainment a sports betting license originally.
PENN Entertainment Expected to Apply for More Licenses
Launching across 17 states right out of the gate will give ESPN BET a massive boost, but that won’t be the last go-live date for the sportsbook from the Worldwide Leader in Sports.

With more states expected to legalize wagering in 2024, including the upcoming launch of the North Carolina online sports betting market, PENN Entertainment is expected to submit more sports betting license applications in the future.
ESPN BET will quickly become one of the most popular sportsbooks in the US sports betting market, as the operator aims to capture upwards of 20% market share.

Previous customers who are already signed up with PENN Entertainment’s old sports betting app, Barstool Sportsbook, should see a seamless transition over to ESPN BET. That means no re-registration will be required when ESPN BET launches.
