- Quavo is favored to be named MVP of the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game for the second straight year.
- The 27-year-old recording star scored a game-high 19 points in last’s year event.
- The 2019 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game will also feature former NBA players Ray Allen and Jay Williams.
Quavo may be best known to music fans as one-third of the popular hip hop trio Migos, but at NBA All-Star Weekend he’s simply known as MVP.
The award-winning recording artist earned most valuable player honors at the 2018 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game after pouring in a game-high 19 points to lead Team Clippers to a breezy 75-66 win.

Quavo’s performance was so impressive that books made him the heavy favorite to win back-to-back trophies on Friday night when he suits up for the Away team at Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 27-year-old’s +225 odds put him well ahead of former NFL receptions leader Steve Smith at +700, comedian Famous Los at +750, and TV host Terrence J at +900.
2019 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game MVP Odds
Who Will Be Named MVP of the 2019 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game? | Odds |
---|---|
Quavo | +225 |
Steve Smith | +700 |
Famous Los | +750 |
Terrence J | +900 |
Jason Weinmann | +1100 |
James Shaw Jr. | +1100 |
Jay Williams | +1400 |
A’ja Wilson | +1400 |
Ray Allen | +1600 |
Stefanie Dolson | +1800 |
Mike Colter | +2500 |
Chris Daughtry | +3000 |
Rhapsody | +3000 |
Bo Rinehart | +3000 |
JB Smoove | +3000 |
AJ Buckley | +3000 |
Bad Bunny | +3500 |
Amanda Seales | +3500 |
Hassan Minhaj | +3500 |
Adam Ray | +3500 |
Brad Williams | +4000 |
Ronnie 2K | +4000 |
Marc Lasry | +5000 |
Dr. Oz | +5000 |
Quavo’s short odds should come as no surprise to anyone who watched him light up the competition last year at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The 5’9″ guard displayed quick hands, an ability to get to the rim at will, and a soft touch at the line. He even showcased a nasty Eurostep that would have made Manu Ginobili proud.

In addition to scoring 19 points, Quavo also had five rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block.
Some bettors may be inclined to snap up Hall of Famer Ray Allen at +1600, but bear in mind that former NBA players have never won the All-Star Celebrity Game MVP Award. Standouts like Allen – and Tracy McGrady before him – are generally expected to be facilitators rather than scorers. They add an air of legitimacy to an otherwise sloppy pickup game and happily set up their celebrity teammates in limited court time.
Past 5 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game MVP Winners
Year | All-Star Celebrity Game MVP |
---|---|
2014 | Kevin Hart and Arne Duncan |
2015 | Kevin Hart |
2016 | Win Butler |
2017 | Brandon Armstrong |
2018 | Quavo |
If Kevin Hart can win MVP honors four times than surely someone who’s tall enough to actually get on carnival rides can win the award twice. Bet big on Quavo.
Pick: Quavo (+225)
Odds the MVP of the 2019 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game is Female
Will the MVP of the 2019 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game Be Female? | Odds |
---|---|
Yes | +375 |
No | -550 |
Female players like Becky Hammon and Tamika Catchings have generated plenty of highlights in previous NBA All-Star Celebrity Games, but they have never walked away with the event’s most valuable player award.
A’ja Wilson averaged 20.7 points, eight rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.6 swats per game during her rookie season with the Las Vegas Aces.
If you’re looking for a long shot, we recommend A’ja Wilson at +1400. The 22-year-old power forward averaged 20.7 points, eight rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.6 swats per game during her rookie season with the Las Vegas Aces after being selected first overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft.

The 6’4″ Wilson has the size and skill to go toe-to-toe with anyone on the court, but like Allen, she’ll probably be content to break a light sweat and let her celebrity teammates shine.
Pick: No (-550)
Odds to Win the 2019 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game
Who Will Win the 2019 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game? | Odds |
---|---|
Home Team | +115 |
Away Team | -145 |
Quavo easily guided his squad to victory in 2018 and there’s no reason to think this year will be any different. In addition to having the reigning MVP, the Away Team also boasts 10-time NBA All-Star Ray Allen, two-time WNBA All-Star Stefanie Dolson, and gaming guru Ronnie 2K, who played at UC San Diego.
You’ll likely have to endure a whole lot of bricks and Dr Oz post-ups, but once the dust settles the Away Team will emerge triumphant.
Pick: Away Team (-145)
