- Sportsbooks are offering several prop bets on U.S. President Donald Trump’s border wall
- Tuesday, Trump addressed the nation regarding the status of the wall
- Democrats and Trump are at a stalemate over funding for the wall
Will Donald Trump’s dream of a border wall come to fruition, or will the wall come tumbling down before it is ever built? That’s the question on America’s mind, and sportsbooks are offering you the chance to put your money where your thoughts are.
Sportsbooks have a series of prop wagers on how the current standoff over funding for Trump’s proposed wall at the U.S.-Mexico border will play out.

Trump made the border wall one of his key talking points during the 2016 U.S. Presidential election.

Not only did he insist that it would get built, but Trump also bragged to his supporters that Mexico would pay for it. That option is off the table, and with Democrats not interested in supplying funding, Trump looks to have thrown up a brick by jumping all over his wall issue.
All in All, Will Trump Ever Get His Wall?
Trump stormed out of a meeting with Democratic leaders on Wednesday when they refused to provide funding for the wall.

Trump is all about winning – it’s one of his favorite words – but the current shutdown of the U.S. government nears record length, and no end appears in sight. As Democrats refuse to bend, Trump is growing more intractable.

Under 20.5 Days | -170 |
Trump looks to have backed himself into a corner on this issue and as long as the Democrats stand firm, his only way out would appear to be to capitulate. But is he stubborn enough to own the record as the President with the longest government shutdown on his resume? At this point, it would appear so.
How Far is Trump Willing to Go?
Trump went on TV Tuesday and gave a national address, citing a crisis at the southern border, when in fact all evidence points to the contrary. Trump is visiting the border on Thursday, playing to his base, who are still showing support for him, even though a Quinnipiac University study indicated 62 percent of Americans don’t want the wall.

Trump does have, pardon the expression, one trump card he could play – use an executive order to bypass congress and declare a national emergency in order to gain wall funding.

*Emergency must be declared by Jan 18.
Might Trump do this? He’s a desperate man with a massive ego. It’s entirely possible he’ll see this as the only way to save face with his base.
