The Oklahoma Heisman Jinx
It’s not true that schools don’t win a National Championship and produce a Heisman Trophy winner in the same season.
In fact, it’s happened 15 times, most recently in 2015, when Alabama won the national title and Crimson Tide running back Derrick Henry was awarded the Heisman.

What doesn’t ever come in pairs is Oklahoma Heisman Trophy winners and Oklahoma national titles.
Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray is the seventh Sooner to pick up the Hesiman. Oklahoma has also earned seven national championships. But the Sooners have never combined the two in the same season.
Is Notre Dame For Real?
This is the annual question posed about Notre Dame.
Experts scoff at the strength of the Fighting Irish’s schedule and aren’t as impressed by their 12-0 mark as they are by the 13-0 Alabama posted facing mainly SEC opposition, or the 13-0 of Clemson in the ACC .

Even the legendary Notre Dame-USC rivalry no longer carries the gravitas it once did.
As college football’s last major independent, we’re never really certain of how good Notre Dame is until the Irish get to bowl season.
And as we saw the last time Notre Dame got this far, as the No. 1-ranked team in 2012 until they were throttled 42-14 by No. 2 Alabama in the championship game, sometimes reality can take a harsh bite out of the Irish.
Is the Return Worth The Risk?
The thing about the Hail Mary play in football is that every once in a while, it works. But generally, it works against the Detroit Lions, and the Lions aren’t in the CFP.
Notre Dame is no stranger to disrespect, but do the Irish have a chance against Clemson? https://t.co/GUwMAU6FNR

Sure, the Notre Dame over Oklahoma payout would be a great outcome. So would winning the lottery, and that’s about as likely to happen as the Irish winning the national title over the Sooners.
If you want to play an upset, take Clemson over Alabama. At least there’s a recent history of that occurring.
