Bruno Mars swept the Grammy’s last year and Kendrick Lamar topped the nominations this year with eight nods. But the spotlight is on Childish Gambino as we head towards the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. The modern-day Renaissance man made waves this year with This is America, and the bookmakers have listed him as the favorite to claim the two marquee awards — Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
We provided a sneak peek at the opening odds immediately after the nominations were announced. Now it’s time for the updated odds.
61st Grammy Awards Odds
Album of the Year Odds
Who Will Win Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards? | Odds |
---|---|
Dirty Computer, Janelle Monae | +300 |
Golden Hour, Kacey Musgraves | +350 |
Invasion of Privacy, Cardi B | +400 |
Scorpion, Drake | +400 |
Black Panther: The Album | +650 |
Beerbongs & Bentleys, Post Malone | +900 |
By the Way, I Forgive You, Brandi Carlile | +900 |
H.E.R., H.E.R. | +900 |
Janelle Monae leads the pack with her groundbreaking 2018 concept album, Dirty Computer (+300). The genre-bending project, accompanied by a 46-minute narrative film, explores important issues like gender and sexuality, and was met with universal acclaim from critics and fans alike.
Kacey Musgraves is expected to clean up in the country music categories with her latest album, Golden Hour (+350), and she’s also a favorite to pick up Album of the Year. As expected, Drake’s double album, Scorpion (+400), is also in the running. Cardi B had a year of ups and downs, but the marquee event of her year was the release of her debut album, Invasion of Privacy (+400).
Film soundtracks don’t usually register on the Grammy radar, but Black Panther: The Album (+600) was just too good to ignore. And if you’re looking for a long-odds pick, there’s great value in H.E.R’s self-titled album (+900).
Pick: Dirty Computer, Janelle Monae (+300)

Best New Artist Odds
Who Will Win Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards? | Odds |
---|---|
Dua Lipa | +250 |
H.E.R. | +290 |
Luke Combs | +400 |
Bebe Rexha | +550 |
Greta Van Fleet | +550 |
Chloe x Halle | +1000 |
Jorja Smith | +1000 |
Margo Price | +1200 |
British breakout star Dua Lipa (+250) reached new heights this year with a collaboration with Calvin Harris. Her success up until now was mostly confined to within the UK, but hits alongside the likes of Mark Ronson, Diplo, and Harris have opened her up to the rest of the world.
The secretive H.E.R. (+290) is the other front-runner for New Artist. The 21-year-old only recently revealed her identity to the public, and her self-titled debut album has the world wanting to learn more.
Other names to consider are country musician Luke Combs (+400), R&B insider Bebe Rexha (+550), and Michigan rockers Greta Van Fleet (+550).
Pick: H.E.R. (+290)

Record of the Year Odds
Who Will Win Record of the Year at the Grammy Awards? | Odds |
---|---|
This is America, Childish Gambino | -105 |
God’s Plan, Drake | +400 |
I Like it, Cardi B | +650 |
The Middle, Zedd & Maren Morris | +650 |
Shallow, Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper | +700 |
All the Stars, Kendrick Lamar & SZA | +1400 |
Rockstar, Post Malone & 21 Savage | +1400 |
The Joke, Brandi Carlile | +1400 |
Childish Gambino is the odds-on favorite to win the coveted Record of the Year with This Is America (-105). The track was dropped out of nowhere, with no warning or hints of it’s release, and was accompanied by one of the greatest music videos of all time.
Donald Glover’s two closest competitors are Drake’s God’s Plan (+400) and Cardi B’s I Like It (+650). Both records hit the top of the billboards, but neither can rival cultural impact of This Is America. The stand-alone track is nominated for four Grammy’s — Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Music Video — and could well win them all.
Pick: Childish Gambino, This is America

Song of the Year Odds
Who Will Win Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards? | Odds |
---|---|
This is America, Childish Gambino | EVEN |
God’s Plan, Drake | +450 |
Boo’d Up, Ella Mai | +600 |
Shallow, Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper | +600 |
The Middle, Zedd & Maren Morris | +650 |
All the Stars, Kendrick Lamar & SZA | +1400 |
In My Blood, Shawn Mendes | +1400 |
The Joke, Brandi Carlile | +1400 |
Again, it’s hard to look past This Is America (EVEN). Drake’s God’s Plan (+450) is giving chase, but like with Record of the Year, the former Degrassi star sits at a distant second place. Interestingly, R&B newcomer Ella Mai is among the front-runners with her breakthrough hit Boo’d Up (+600). And the peculiar collaboration between Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, Shallow (+600), which accompanies Cooper’s directorial debut film, also finds itself among the favorites.
But this award belongs to Childish Gambino.
Pick: Childish Gambino, This is America
