This weekend (Friday, December 14th to Saturday, December 15th) the third Blast Pro Series event of the year will be taking place in Lisbon, Portugal, with six of the worlds premier teams in attendance.

Though Astralis are heavy favorites to win the event, there are some group stage matches that present an opportunity to make some smaller bets and cash out before grand finals on Saturday.

MiBR vs Cloud 9

With both the North American teams playing with stand-ins for Blast Pro Series Lisbon, this makes for a very interesting match.

The MiBR squad will be playing with North American golden boy, Braxton ‘Swag’ Pierce, in place of Fer. Meanwhile Cloud 9 elects to have Danish newcomer, Ismail ‘refrezh’ Ali, step in and fill the void for their IGL Golden.

I don’t see a world where MiBR isn’t able to cover this spread.

Since winning the ELEAGUE Boston Major, Cloud 9 has been on a downward spiral, plummeting to their lowest point since joining CS:GO.

In saying that, playing with a stand-in that doesn’t have much major lan experience may prove to be very difficult for the 2018 Major winners.

Conversely, MiBR has performing decently well as of late. Even though rumors have started to swirl that Jake ‘Stewie2k’ Yip will be traded after Blast Pro Series Lisbon, I would expect the Brazilian/American hybrid roster to cover the -2.5 spread.

NiP vs Na’vi

Ninjas in Pyjamas are a team that you can just never count out. That’s why I’m feeling an upset for the Swedish side over the world’s #3 team Natus Vincere.

Led by Counter-Strike legends GeT RiGhT and f0rest, the Swede’s boast some of the most experience of any team in terms of longevity in the scene.

Since IEM Oakland wasn’t an event this year, maybe this is where NiP comes in and plays spoiler for some of the bigger fish in the tournament like they so regularly do.

Faze vs NiP

Though Ninjas in Pyjamas are known to upset some of the best teams in the world, I can’t see them covering the spread in this matchup.

Faze has been through a rough patch since the FACEIT Major in September, which I believe they snap out of in Lisbon this weekend.

If the rest of Faze comes out with the passion and intensity that superstar NiKo carries every time he hops into a server, then I see this match being an absolute stomping.

When Faze is firing on all cylinders, they are seemingly the only team that can challenge the likes of Astralis, and Ninjas in Pyjamas just aren’t quite up on that level yet.
