- The Colts average Super Bowl 53 odds have dropped from +31300 to +5600
- Andrew Luck has been the catalyst for Indy’s turnaround
- Is there any value betting the Colts at these odds?
Life is good in Indy right now.

The Colts aren’t just beating teams, they’re pummeling them. They’ve won four straight, by an average of 19.25 points, and are now firmly in contention for an AFC playoff spot.

Just five weeks ago, Indy was 1-5 and their Super Bowl odds had ballooned to +31300.
But as the wins have piled up, their odds have gradually shortened and they now sit at just +5600. That substantial price change has propelled them into a top six AFC favorite according to our Super 53 Bowl Odds tracker.
Some books are even higher on the Colts ceiling, listing their odds to raise the Lombardi trophy at +4000.
Super Bowl 53 Odds
Team | Odds |
---|---|
New Orleans Saints | +325 |
Los Angeles Rams | +325 |
Kansas City Chiefs | +550 |
New England Patriots | +650 |
Pittsburgh Steelers | +900 |
Chicago Bears | +1500 |
Los Angeles Chargers | +1500 |
Houston Texans | +2000 |
Minnesota Vikings | +2200 |
Indianapolis Colts | +4000 |
A little Luck goes a long way
The main reason for the Colts turnaround has been the incredible play of Andrew Luck, who put all questions about his arm strength to rest in Week 11.

He’s been nearly unstoppable during Indy’s four game winning streak, completing 74% of his passes for 977 yards and 13 touchdowns. What’s even more impressive is that three of the four defenses he torched were ranked inside the top 10 and not one managed to sack him.
In fact, Luck hasn’t taken a sack since October 4th.
Andrew Luck’s 214 straight pass attempts without being sacked is the longest streak since 1991 (Mark Rypien – 252 straight attempts for Redskins).
Prior to that, the last streak that long was an NFL-record 759 straight attempts by Dan Marino from 1988-89 (h/t @EliasSports) pic.twitter.com/yQHEzelBKQ

He’s thrown at least three touchdowns in seven straight games and is now entrenched in the MVP conversation.
Is there value on the Colts?
It’s hard to imagine anyone other than the Saints, Rams or Chiefs winning Super Bowl 53, but the Colts could potentially make some noise.
Just four teams have racked up more points this season than Indy and only the Saints and Rams have scored more in their last four games.
They have a quarterback playing at an MVP level, a smart, aggressive Coach and an improving defense anchored by the Defensive Rookie of the Year favorite.

I wouldn’t wager anything substantial, but a sprinkle could at least create a profitable hedging opportunity if the Colts manage to steal a playoff game or two on the road.
