  • We’re looking at a million games on the MLB Slate for Tuesday, April 22
  • With a slate like this, the dinger options are endless, which is beautiful
  • See below for my +6365 MLB parlay for Tuesday

We’ve been blessed with another Dinger Tuesday slate, and this one looks like the best one we’ve seen so far this season. We need to come back strong with our 3-Man Dinger strategy after yesterday but, lucky for us, I know we will. If you don’t know what the 3-Man Dinger strategy is, it’s simple. All we do is straight bet three guys to hit a home run for a quarter unit. Then, we parlay all three together for another quarter unit. All we have to do is risk one unit total, and if one guy hits, then we stuff a little cash in our pockets. If all three hit, we’re legends. I can’t think of a better way to spend our time and cash than this. Here are the three guys we should bet on tonight. Feels right.

Tuesday HR Parlay Leg #1 – Cal Raleigh to Hit a Home Run

We need to come out of the gate firing, and Cal Raleigh might be the best guy we can bet in the early part of the slate. He’s a guy who has been crushing baseballs over the last couple of weeks, and that’s really all we’re looking for. Just get a guy that we know can put a ball on the moo,n and we’re good.

Lucky for us, Cal is that guy and he smashes the pitch mix he’s likely to see tonight.

PitchCal Raleigh Barrel Rate vs Pitch (Current Season)Brayan Bello EV on pitch to LHB (Last Season)
Sinker50%94 MPH
Changeup25%84 MPH

I know the haters are going to say that Brayan Bello is good and we shouldn’t target him, but whatever. He’s making his first start of the season tonight, and I bet he’s a little rusty. He gave up 13 home runs to lefties last season, all of which came on sinkers and changeups. All we need to happen tonight is for Bello to miss by an inch on one of those offerings. When that happens, Cal will end up jogging around the bases. Feels easy.

Tuesday HR Parlay Leg #2 – Byron Buxton to Hit a Home Run

Cal Raleigh is a tough guy to follow up, but if one guy can do it, it’s Byron Buxton. Sure, he’s only got four home runs on the season so far, but that really doesn’t matter that much. What we need to do is figure out when he’s going to get his because we know he’s going to get his.

And if he’s going to get his, then it will likely be against a pitch mix like the one Davis Martin offers.

PitchByron Buxton Barrel Rate vs Pitch (Current Season)Davis Martin EV on pitch to RHB
Slider29%88 MPH
Four-seam Fastball36%98 MPH

I’ll admit, I don’t like to go into the +260s for Byron Buxton, but sometimes we have to do what we have to do. It is what it is. But at the end of the day, when you see a four-seam fastball getting hit like Martin’s, then you have to consider Buxton. He’s a fastball guy and he always has been. I think he can bait Martin into giving him one and when that happens, a fan is going home with a souvenir. Feels right.

The Bet: Byron Buxton to Hit a Home Run (+265) – FanDuel

Tuesday HR Parlay Leg #3 – Brent Rooker to Hit a Home Run

We’ll need something on the late slate to help us finish strong, and I’m pretty sure I have the perfect guy. Not only do we need the perfect hitter, but we also need the perfect pitcher. That’s why I couldn’t be more excited about Brent Rooker stepping up to the plate against Patrick Corbin.

Just look at what Rooker does to Corbin’s arsenal. It’s almost illegal.

PitchBrent Rooker Barrel Rate vs Pitch (Current Season)Patrick Corbin Hard Hit Rate on pitch to RHB
Sinker25%66%
Slider50%50%

Patrick Corbin hasn’t been bad this season, but it’s still early. The guy has been in the bottom 1% of pitchers in MLB over the last few years in terms of exit velocity, so we know it’s coming. Through the years, his sinker to right-handed batters has ended up in the seats more than any other pitch he throws, so it’s nice to know Rooker kills that offering from lefties. His slider is also an issue for him, another pitch Rooker crushes. This feels free.
