  • The 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix takes the green flag this Sunday morning from the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
  • Oscar Piastri is a slight favorite before qualifying.
  • Below, look at our Saudi Arabian Grand Prix predictions, start time, and more.

Formula 1 races into the Arabian Peninsula for the fifth event of the 2025 season this Sunday, April 20th, with the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The green flag drops just after 1:00 pm EDT, with live coverage via ESPN.

Jeddah is a 3.836-mile track. This is one of those courses that feature a ton of turns – 27 in all. Simply, Jeddah takes the form of a street course with many technical challenges. Drivers will have what amounts to be an adventure over 50 laps.

Let us dive into these Formula 1 odds, predictions, and even more potential pick for the Saudi Arabia race.

At EVEN odds, the implied probability for Oscar Piastri rumbles in at 40%, with Max Verstappen stands in at 9.09%. Meanwhile, Lance Norris is the favorite at 50%.

Does the street course finally cause some real passing, a ton of crashes, or both?

Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Predictions

People should expect another race on a hot track cooling somewhat at night. However, expect temperatures falling to around 90 in the evening. Tire wear figures to favor the McLaren once again. Their aerodynamic setup just seems to work better on these tracks as opposed to say Japan. Now, this is a street course but do not expect rain. However, there could be some slightly breezy conditions from time to time. Do not expect anything earth shattering.

Qualifying will take place early Saturday afternoon East Coast time or after sunset in Jeddah. Early practice session seem to indicate that McLaren dominance with Oscar Piastri behind Lando Norris after the second practice. Max Verstappen started to pick things up and ended up third. There will be one more practice session on Saturday hours before the qualifying.

The Ferrari camp wants to come and play but Charles LeClerc last week was still almost 20 seconds behind Piastri in fourth place. What he said about the dynamics and paortcularly the lift/pace was prophetic. Can a Ferrari catch a McLaren? The answer is no. It will come down to pit strategy and some luck.

Sunday did not see a 1-2 with McLaren. Is the race for them to lose? The honest answer is yes. Practice 2 allowed Norris and Piastri to let the car loose.

The hope is for a mistake. Otherwise, that 1-2 may just happen on Sunday. We will take Oscar Piastri for his ability to make fewer mistakes on a technical track.

More Hot Predictions From The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

Okay, everyone wants to talk what about some different picks? Last week was like the training wheels portion of the exam. Now, we start peeling back the layers one by one. First up, we have a pit stop prop.

Last week showed that Ferrari has made some improvements with their pit stops. They have been faster more times than not compared to Red Bull and even McLaren. Last week, Ferrari had a 2.16 second pit stop at Bahrain. I expect them to pull off a close to similar feat again on Sunday (-110 at DraftKings).

With 50 laps and the hope there is a little more passing via DRS and those technical sections, two choices stick out for a Top 6 spot. One is Carlos Sainz, who has had some bad luck. He has one point on the season but just needs a little luck to go his way. The other is Pierre Gasly. At +200, I have faith he can sneak into 5th or 6th position on Sunday from Jeddah. Do not forget we have more racing odds as always.
