Without question, the Los Angeles Rams have been the most impressive team in the NFL this season.
Online sports betting sites took notice of this last week, when they made the Rams Super Bowl 53 favorites – the first time someone other than the Patriots held that title this year.
But there was certainly some hesitancy in calling LA the favorites, as they had beaten the Raiders and Cardinals – arguably two of the worst teams in the NFL – in the first two weeks. The Rams swatted that narrative in Week 3, though, with an impressive 35-23 win over the Chargers.
The result is extremely short +400Â average odds to win Super Bowl 53, which are the shortest odds any team has possessed all year.
Average Odds to Win Super Bowl 53
After trading for Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib, along with acquiring Ndamukong Suh in free agency, the Rams were seen as legitimate Super Bowl 53 contenders.
But after three games in the 2018 NFL season, they look nearly unstoppable.
Super Bowl 53 Odds

Should the Rams be Such Heavy Super Bowl Favorites?
Name one team who you believe can stop Sean McVay’s offense. I’ll wait …
Todd Gurley looks just as dangerous as last season, and Jared Goff appears to be more comfortable in the offense. The sky is the limit for this unit, which is currently averaging 34 points per game with ease.
Los Angeles also has this defense led by Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh up front that’s allowing a league-low 12 points per game.
And when you look around the rest of the league, none of the other perceived favorites have really left us feeling confident. So yes, it makes sense to have this juggernaut listed at an average of +400.
Do the Rams Still Offer Super Bowl 53 Value?
Yes and no.
Are the Rams a bad bet at these odds? No. But if the NFL has taught us anything this season, it’s that we know nothing.

So my advice is to hold off on betting the Rams right now. Cross your fingers for a no-show in the next two weeks (v MIN and @SEA) , similar to the Vikings this Sunday, and then jump on the slightly longer odds.
Who Presents Value in Super Bowl 53 Betting Right Now?
Trust me when I say I hate this answer more than most: the New England Patriots.
After losing 26-10 to the then-winless Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football of Week 3, the 1-2 Pats have +890 average odds to win Super Bowl 53, the longest they’ve seen all year.

We’ve seen these same early-season struggles from New England in the past. Yet, they always seem to be around come late-January.
This season’s struggles have been the result of not being able to stop the run (31st in run defense) and not having anyone outside of Rob Gronkowski who can get open (26th in passing offense).
Here’s some eye-opening numbers for you: Tom Brady is 1-for-9 throwing to wide receivers outside the numbers over the last two weeks (for a grand total of 12 yards). #Patriots

Well, both of those problems will be solved when Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon take the field. Tom Brady and the offense will be humming, forcing teams to abandon the run and play catch-up.
You won’t find odds these long with the Patriots again this season, so take advantage while they’re available.
