What Has Changed With Travis Hunter?

Numbers shift and move all the way when it comes to NFL Draft Props. It is the one major thing a bettor will learn in the leadup to the NFL Draft. Yes, there are still a little more than two weeks until the selections are made at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Some are asking what has changed with Travis Hunter between March 26th and now? Was Abdul Carter just a big and bright name?

Based on how some of the Top 5 odds have shifted, it does seem to make sense that Cleveland has pivoted away from Abdul Carter. It also appears that Hunter impressed enough at his Draft Day to sway the Browns in their thinking.

Again, there is no guarantee that Cleveland keeps the second pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, signs trend to Hunter and Cleveland being a match here as the Browns seek a game changer.

Abdul Carter or Shedeur Sanders or Travis Hunter at Number Two?

Abdul Carter was the betting favorite (-130) to go second overall, but now he has tumbled down to second at +185. Furthermore, Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders at +600 is starting to appear like his name may be called a little later than expected. Again, anything can happen.

Sanders put up big numbers including an NCAA Division I record 74% completion rate in his final college season. Also Sanders threw for 4,134 yards with 37 TDs and 10 INTs while leading Colorado to a 9-4 record. His ability to anticipate plays and execute are what the Browns are looking for in their next quarterback.

Carter’s numbers surged early, but with Garrett now getting paid and likely staying by the lake the Browns can focus on opting for that game-breaker while still looking for a quarterback perhaps later in the draft. Some pundits suggest Cleveland may be enamored with Jalen Milroe of Alabama. Maybe that is just talk but it appears the smoke is not on Carter or Sanders anymore for the Browns.

At +185 (35% implied probability), Carter to Cleveland has less value but it feels like his -200 odds at third may be a harbinger of things to come. Sanders is not as much of a lock to go in the Top 3 or maybe even Top 5. Some of this is overblown but both Carter and Sanders are moving down. How much? That remains to be seen. Sanders at +600 has some value but Cleveland appears to have made their internal decision.

Come April 24th, Travis Hunter may want to start knowing his moves for “Cleveland Rocks”.
