Their -game win streak up in smoke, the Boston Celtics (55-20, 24-13 home) look to bounce back as they host the desperate Phoenix Suns (35-41, 12-26 away), a team clinging to its playoff hopes, and without the services of one of the NBA’s most lethal scorers. Action gets underway from TD Garden in Boston beginning at 7:30pm ET, with NBA TV carrying the broadcast. The Celtics are overwhelming favorties for this one in the NBA odds.

The most glaring injury is Suns’ forward Kevin Durant, who’s still dealing with an ankle injury. That’s a cool 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists that won’t be easy to replace.

Notable for Boston on the injured list is NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Green (knee), who is listed as questionable for this matchup on Friday.

NBA player props from DraftKings and Bet365 on April 4.

Without KD on board, the scoring burden falls squarely on Devin Booker, and he’s got the highest scoring prop of any player in the field at 27.5. In the game Durant got injured and last game without his running mate, Booker scored better than 28 points in each.

Boston’s all-star duo of Jayson Tatum (25.5 points) and Jaylen Brown (23.5 points) rank top two in scoring totals for the Celtics, while Kristaps Porzingis is in at 19.5 points. Tatum has gone Under the total in three of the last four.

Tatum, Porzingis and Phoenix forward Nick Richards all share the highest rebounding total at 7.5 points. Richards has only hit the Over once in the last four games for the Suns.

Phoenix Suns vs Boston Celtics Picks

  • Suns vs Celtics pick: Celtics -15 (-108)
  • Suns vs Celtics prop bet: Booker Under 27.5 points (-115)

It’s grim in Phoenix, and this might only be the beginning of it.

The Suns have lost four straight, and the schedule maker has given them an absolute killer slate coming home. All four losses have come against West teams currently in postseason position in the West, and these very Celtics.

Boston laid the hammer on them to start this skid, whipping them 132-102. Every loss has been by double digits, including last game, when they were drilled 133-123 in Milwaukee.

In the last four games, the Suns are surrendering a whipping 134.3 points per game, by far the most in the NBA, just under nine points clear of the second-worst team.

They’re trying to stay within range of the SacTo Kings, who they trail by a single game for the 10th and final play-in, but they might be cooked by the time they get their, as their sched reads Celtics, Knicks, Warriors, Thunders, Spurs (relief!) before a trip to San Antonio.

Boston is not the get-right team right now, especially after they were clubbed 124-103 last time out by the Miami Heat, putting an end to its 9-game fun run.

Of course, they’ve also been rotating out guys for rest and maintenance for a playoff run, and were missing Jrue Holiday (shoulder), Kristaps Porzingis (rest) and Al Horford (toe) against the Heat.

At this point, the Celtics are trying to keep the machine humming, locked in as the 2-seed in the East. They will try ao avoid back-to-back losses at home for the first time this season. They are a remarkable 19-0 following a home loss this season.

The Suns have failed to cover the spread in six straight as road underdogs vs East teams.

Boston has won three straight in this head-to-head and five of the last six, going 5-1-0 against the spread. They have won by 15 or more in four of those games.

It’s a massive number to cover, but no matter who Boston tosses out there, Phoenix’s ship is sinking, and currently exposed without Durant.
