- We’ve got a nice eight-game NBA slate on Monday, March 24, 2025
- With a slate like this, we have to be able to find a couple of plus-money bangers
- See my favorite NBA player props, picks, and predictions tonight
The Monday after the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament is always tough. One question that always comes up is, “Did I watch too much basketball over the weekend?” The answer is no. We may have watched a million games but I’d be willing to bet that by the time the NBA rolls around tonight, we’ll be ready to watch more. Trust me, I’ve been through this a million times. The smartest thing we can do right now is find a few plus-money bangers in the NBA player props. They’re out there just waiting to be bet. That way, when we decide we’re ready to watch more basketball tonight, we’ll already have our plus-money bangers taken care of. Here are two just in case anyone needs them. People helping people; it’s powerful stuff.

NBA Player Prop Pick #1: It’s Justin Edwards‘ Time
March is a fun time in the NBA. We see the teams that are out of it give the “other” guys a chance. It happens every year and if we’re being honest, it breeds opportunity. How on Earth are the books supposed to price these guys?
One guy who is a great example of this is Justin Edwards of the Philadelphia 76ers.

62 points
10 three-pointers
66.6 TS%

The season is over for the Philadelphia 76ers. Joel Embiid and Paul George are both officially done for the year, and Tyrese Maxey never plays anymore. Looking at their roster, it legit looks like a G-League squad out there every night.
The thing is, Philadelphia needs to see what they have and there’s no better time than now to get that done. One guy they’ve been showcasing is Justin Edwards. The kid has been playing huge minutes over the last four games and it looks like that will remain the case for the rest of the season.
It’s not just about minutes for Edwards though. He’s been producing in those minutes. In those last four games, he’s gone for 18+ points in all of them. Over the last two, he’s gone for 22+ in each. Given the opponent and situation tonight, Edwards seems like a great bet to continue his scoring success. 20+ points should not be +186. Feels right.

NBA Player Prop Prediction #2: Jose Alvarado Drops Dimes
Sicking with the “guys getting playing time” narrative, we’ve got Jose Alvarado of the New Orleans Pelicans. They’ve seen guys come in and out of the lineup and now it’s just a mess. But if there was one bright spot, it would be Jose Alvarado.
This guy is relentless.

We’ve already talked about the trainwreck Philly’s season has been and in many ways, the Pelicans’ season has gone the exact same. Injuries have ravaged a once promising start to the point where they’re actively trying not to win at this point. It is what it is.
The thing is, the guys that are actually playing now are playing like it’s the NBA Finals. For them, this is it. It’s a chance to show what they can do. Jose Alvarado knows that and it’s obvious when he takes the floor every night.
Alvarado has started the last three games and he’s recorded 6+ assists in two of them. The only time he didn’t was in a beatdown to Minnesota where he only saw 17 minutes. In a matchup with Phily tonight, he should see his full compliment of minutes and when that happens, I’d be shocked if he didn’t dish out at least six dimes. Feels easy.
