Fading the Bears has been a fairly strong play all season. Baylor finished the regular season six games under .500 against the number (12-18-2, 40% cover rate). The Bulldogs were better, but not by much, going 15-18 (45.5% cover rate).
Both teams have skewed to the over this year. Baylor is 17-15 O/U while Mississippi State is a profitable 19-13-1 (59.4% over rate).
Both teams are relative longshots in the odds to reach the Final Four but, counterintuitively, DraftKings has the Bears (+4000) shorter than the Bulldogs (+5500) despite Mississippi State being favored in this game across the board.

The three most-influential analytics sites – KenPom, Haslametrics, and Torvik – all rate Baylor as a slightly better team.
