MLB Futures

Updated:
Compared to the other major professional sports leagues in the US, the MLB has the fewest futures available for betting – they just have fewer player awards than the other leagues. But sportsbooks are working to change that, as we have seen a couple more player futures added after a handful of years into legalized betting. The MLB has one of the longest seasons in professional sports, typically spanning from late-March and potentially running into November. It is without a doubt the longest season in professional sports when it comes to the games played (162 games for each team). So, MLB futures are just one of many betting options available in-season, but the only way baseball bettors can get in on the action between the time the World Series ends and Opening Day of the next season.
We typically see World Series futures available almost all year, while other team futures and all MLB award futures typically take a little longer to open back up – often it’s not until January or so.
These are the MLB futures for teams we are currently tracking:
While there are more MLB futures for teams available, such as the team to score the most runs, allow the fewest runs etc, they are not available for very long and we have deemed them unworthy of tracking. We do cover those markets in our MLB news, though, covering both the odds and our picks.
Then these are the MLB player futures we are tracking:
We are also planning to add a dedicated page to MLB Manager of the Year in the near future. This is a market sportsbooks didn’t have right out of the gate, but are getting themselves caught up. While I did mention the lack of MLB player awards earlier, it is possible sportsbooks look to offer markets on Gold Glove and Silver Slugger winners, as they are basically the same as player awards. If sportsbooks add any markets for these honors, we will follow suit.
