  • The Phoenix Suns visit the Denver Nuggets on Friday night
  • The Nuggets are 7.5-point home favorites and -290 on the moneyline
  • See below for Suns vs Nuggets predictions, latest odds and Over/Under pick for Mar. 7

The Phoenix Suns (29-33) head to the Mile High City to battle the Denver Nuggets (40-22) at Ball Arena on Friday at 10 p.m. ET. It’s a Western Conference clash between two teams heading in opposite directions – a surging Nuggets squad battling for the No. 2 seed and an inconsistent Suns team fighting just to make the play-in.

Phoenix aims to build off an improbable 23-point comeback win over the Clippers on Tuesday, while Denver looks to keep the momentum going after outlasting the Kings 116-110 on Wednesday. Oddsmakers have installed Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and the Nugs as sizable home favorites.

Here’s a look at our Suns vs Nuggets prediction for Friday night.

The Nuggets enter this tilt in strong form, winning 7 of their last 10 games to solidify their position as a top-3 seed in the West. Led by two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, who’s putting up a ridiculous 28.8 points, 12.8 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game, Denver has been especially dominant on their home floor with a 21-9 record.

On the flip side, it’s been a season of frustration and underachievement for the star-studded Suns. Despite the talents of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, Phoenix sits at just 29-33 and in real danger of missing the postseason entirely. They’re only 4-11 since February with the league’s 2nd-worst defense over that span.

This sets up as a huge mismatch on paper. The Nuggets have already beaten the Suns convincingly twice this season, and their offense should have a field day against Phoenix’s porous D. With Jokic and Jamal Murray leading a balanced attack that ranks 3rd in scoring and 1st in assists, it’s hard to see the Suns keeping pace for 48 minutes.

The Suns’ thrilling comeback against the Clippers may give them a bit of a boost, but it’s concerning that they even fell behind by 23 to an LA team playing its 7th straight road game. Phoenix’s issues won’t magically fix themselves overnight. As road dogs of 7.5+ points this year, they’re only 2-4 ATS.

While the over/under of 238.5 points is sky-high, the smart money is on the under here. The under has cashed in all 3 Suns-Nuggets matchups this season, and both teams have leaned low lately with the under hitting in 10 of their last 17 combined games. Expect Denver to control the tempo as a big favorite.

When making your Phoenix vs Denver prediction, consider that the Nuggets are the far better, more consistent team right now, especially at home. Lay the points with Denver and look for a comfortable win and cover.

Spread+7.5 (-110)-7.5 (-110)
TotalOver 238.5 (-110)Under 238.5 (-110)

The Nuggets are hefty 7.5-point home favorites at DraftKings, with their -290 moneyline price giving them a 74.4% implied probability to get the W. Denver won two of the first three meetings this year by 17 and 27 points.

Injury-wise, the Suns could be without Bradley Beal (calf) who is questionable after exiting early on Tuesday. For Denver, Aaron Gordon (ankle) and Nikola Jokic (ankle) are both questionable but expected to play barring any setbacks.

The total opened at 238.5 points and has held steady. The under is 5-0 in the last five Suns-Nuggets matchups and 5-2 in Denver’s last seven overall.

Odds via DraftKings & FanDuel as of Mar 7, 2025.

Here are the two player props that I’m targeting for this matchup:

  • Devin Booker over 7.5 assists (+110): Booker has tallied 8+ dimes in 9 of his last 11 games, so I like getting plus odds here against a Nuggets D allowing the 7th-most assists. He had 9 assists in his only game vs Denver this season.
  • Kevin Durant over 5.5 rebounds (+105): Durant has averaged 6 boards on the season and grabbed 17 total over his last two contests. He also snagged 13 rebounds in two December meetings with Denver.
