The Toronto Maple Leafs (38-20-3) head to T-Mobile Arena to take on the Vegas Golden Knights (36-18-6) on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Puck drop is scheduled for 10:00 PM Eastern Time, with national coverage provided by TNT.
The Golden Knights are -160 favorites at home, with the over/under set at 6 goals. Can Jack Eichel and Vegas keep up their dominant home-ice performance against Auston Matthews and the Maple Leafs?
Here is our Maple Leafs vs Golden Knights prediction and pick for Wednesday night’s matchup.
Maple Leafs vs Golden Knights Prediction
I’m taking the Golden Knights to secure the win on home ice against the Maple Leafs. While Toronto has been one of the league’s best road teams since mid-December, Vegas has been nearly unbeatable at T-Mobile Arena this season with a 22-6-3 record.
The Golden Knights are led by Jack Eichel, who tops the team with 72 points in 60 games. Eichel has been fantastic at both ends of the ice this season. Mark Stone (51 points) and Shea Theodore (48 points) provide additional scoring punch for a Vegas squad averaging 3.30 goals per game (6th).
Vegas also boasts the league’s third-ranked power play unit, converting at a 28.5% clip. That could be a major factor against a Toronto penalty kill that sits just 15th overall (79.4%). The Golden Knights are coming off back-to-back wins and have taken five of their last six contests overall.
The Maple Leafs, meanwhile, had their five-game winning streak snapped in stunning fashion Monday, losing 3-2 in a shootout to the San Jose Sharks, who entered the game with just one victory in their previous 15 outings. Toronto has relied heavily on their power play recently, but the Knights’ 7th-ranked penalty kill (82.9%) should prove a tough test.
Expect Adin Hill (22-10-4, 2.52 GAA, .906 SV%) to get the start for Vegas opposite Joseph Woll (21-11-0, 2.70 GAA, .907 SV%). Hill is coming off three straight wins, allowing just two total goals in that span. He should outduel Woll as the Golden Knights continue their dominance on home ice.
Wednesday NHL Pick:
- Golden Knights ML (-160 at Caesars)

Maple Leafs vs Golden Knights Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
TOR Maple Leafs | +1.5 (-190) | +135 | Over 6.0 (-120) |
VGK Golden Knights | -1.5 (+158) | -160 | Under 6.0 (+100) |
The Golden Knights are currently solid home favorites in this one, with the moneyline set at -160. This means that a $160 bet on Vegas would return a profit of $100 if they get the win. The Maple Leafs are +135 road underdogs, offering a potential return of $135 on a $100 wager.
Vegas is listed at -1.5 (+158) on the puck line, while Toronto is +1.5 (-190). Bettors taking the Golden Knights puck line would need them to win by two or more goals, but they’d receive a notably higher payout. The Maple Leafs puck line bet would cash if they either win outright or lose by a single goal.
The total (over/under) for this game is set at 6 goals, with the over juiced up to -120 and the under at even money (+100). This indicates oddsmakers believe there’s a greater likelihood of the game going over the total.

John Tavares (TOR) | +220 | 2.5 (+110o/-142u) | 0.5 (-142o/+110u) | 0.5 (+145o/-188u) |
Matthew Knies (TOR) | +235 | 1.5 (+100o/-130u) | 0.5 (-105o/-125u) | 0.5 (+210o/-285u) |
Mitchell Marner (TOR) | +265 | 1.5 (-198o/+150u) | 0.5 (-212o/+160u) | 0.5 (-135o/+105u) |
Brandon Saad (VGK) | +340 | N/A | 0.5 (+155o/-204u) | 0.5 (+310o/-455u) |
Here are the NHL player prop bets I’ve locked in for Wednesday’s Maple Leafs vs Golden Knights matchup:
Mitchell Marner (TOR) – Over 0.5 Points (-212)
Marner has been on fire lately, racking up 10 points in his last six outings, including two assists in the previous meeting with Vegas.
The talented winger is averaging 1.2 points per game this season and should be able to find the scoresheet against a Golden Knights squad that’s allowed 3+ goals in four of the last eight head-to-head matchups. At -212, this is a solid bet with a high probability of cashing.
Noah Hanifin (VGK) – Over 0.5 Assists (+144)
The Golden Knights’ defenseman offers excellent value at +144 to record an assist. Hanifin has been productive on home ice, where Vegas has won five of their last six contests.
With the Knights averaging 2.90 goals per game in their previous 10 at T-Mobile Arena, Hanifin should have ample opportunities to set up a teammate against a Toronto defense allowing 2.70 goals per road tilt.
Mark Stone (VGK) – Over 1.5 Shots on Goal (-188)
Stone has consistently peppered the net, exceeding 1.5 shots in eight consecutive games.
The Vegas captain is averaging 2.02 shots per contest and will be facing a Maple Leafs team that’s giving up 29.2 shots per game on the road. While the -188 odds aren’t as attractive as other props, Stone’s shot volume makes this a relatively safe bet.
