  • The Golden State Warriors visit Philadelphia on Saturday night on ABC at 8:30 pm ET
  • The Warriors are 8.5-point road favorites and -350 on the moneyline!
  • See below for Warriors vs 76ers predictions, updated odds and Over/Under pick for Mar. 1

The Golden State Warriors (32-27) head to the Wells Fargo Center for a contest against the Philadelphia 76ers (20-38) on Saturday at 8:30 pm ET. It’s a game that looked a lot better on paper when the schedule came out.

Golden State heads into the “City Of Brotherly Love” on a five-game winning streak. The Warriors have played much better since the All-Star Break and now face a downtrodden Philadelphia squad. Philadelphia keeps heading in the opposite direction and has lost nine straight games. Even worse, Joel Embiid is out for the season in what has been a nightmare for the 76ers.

Anyway, let us dive into our Warriors vs 76ers predictions for Saturday night.

Warriors vs 76ers Odds

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Golden State Warriors-8.5 (-105)-350Over 227.5 (-110)
Philadelphia 76ers+8.5 (-115)-280Under 227.5 (-110)

The Warriors stroll in as large 8.5 point favorites, with a whopping -350 moneyline and large 77.78% implied win probability. Records and series edge probably mean little here given how Golden State and Philadelphia play. Can the 76ers make a show of it on national television or will it be more of the same?

Injuries will be game-changers as Jimmy Butler is questionable with a bad back. Golden State still has Steph Curry either way. Philadelphia missing Joel Embiid, Eric Gordon, and Kyle Lowry is gutting, no question.

Like the spread, the game total has shifted around a good deal. This stands at 227.5 points. That might be ripe for the under here as Philadelphia scores less than 110 points per game and even Golden State needed 56 points from Steph Curry the other night in a 121-115 win. Do Curry and the Warriors have enough offensive gas in the tank?

Warriors vs 76ers Prediction

This will not be an instant classic by any stretch. If Embiid, Gordon, and Lowry were all healthy, maybe there would be more luster. If Jimmy Butler’s body was a little less banged up, there would be even more to this matchup. However, it is on ABC and again, anything can and will happen in the NBA.

For the 76ers, look to the game in New York as a blueprint of what they may do on Saturday night. Philadelphia tried to slow the pace down deliberately. Anytime they try to run with teams, the 76ers get blown out (see Chicago and Boston recently). The Bulls scored 142 in Philadelphia. Nick Nurse and the 76ers will at least keep that from happening.

Steph Curry is not considered an NBA MVP contender, but he can still take over games at any time. Philadelphia and Tyrone Maxey will keep this game tight but in the end, Golden State has too many weapons to drop this affair.

Warriors vs 76ers Best Bets

  • Best Bet: Warriors -8.5 (-105) at BetMGM
  • Under 227.5 (-110) at BetMGM
  • Jimmy Butler Under 18.5 Points (-130)

Enough projections suggest a slightly lower-than-expected scoring affair, I’m taking Golden State at -8.5 as a solid bet. Giving points on the road with Golden State can always be risky. However, a game on ABC in primetime feels ripe for the Warriors here. Yes, the 76ers can play with teams, but the crowd could get ugly which may make the game uglier.

As much as the Steph Curry 30-5-5 prop (30 points, 5 assists, 5 threes made) is tempting, opting for Jimmy Butler if he plays is palatable. Butler has only averaged 16.3 points a game in his eight contests. That includes a five and six-point effort against Charlotte and Orlando. Again, he is not 100%. So, if Butler does not play, look to Draymond Green to go over 6.5 rebounds (+105 via BetMGM). He had 10 in Orlando. Even Green’s assist prop is interesting the other way (the under at 5.5 is now Even).

Honestly, this game feels like one of those slug-them-out kind of contests where there are flashes of brilliance but lots of long stretches where play becomes stagnant. Philadelphia needs to slow things down to make a game of it, while Golden State expects to make the game more frenetic and pull away late.
