Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs (21-8, 6-2 away, 12-4 WCC, 11-18 ATS) remain mired in one of their toughest seasons in recent memory. Tied for second in the WCC, the Zags have already lost both matchups with arch-rival Saint Mary’s. On Tuesday night, they look for a measure of revenge against the Santa Clara Broncos (19-10, 11-3 home, 11-5 WCC, 16-13 ATS), who already handed Gonzaga a 103-99 home loss back in mid-January. Tuesday’s college basketball odds don’t project lightning striking twice for the Broncos, who are listed as sizable 5.5-point home underdogs.

The Broncos are coming off a massively impressive 109-79 road win at Washington State on Saturday, led by 22 points from Carlos Stewart. That was the team’s fifth win in the last six games. The only loss in that stretch was a 73-64 road setback at WCC-leading Saint Mary’s on Feb. 11.

The Zags are coming off a 74-67 home loss to Saint Mary’s on Saturday, never recovering from an 11-0 early deficit. Gonzaga briefly tied the game at 46-46 in the second half, but never actually held the lead in the entire 40 minutes.

Graham Ike had a team-high 19 points in the loss while star point guard Ryan Nembhard added 11 points and eight assists.

Since losing to Santa Clara at home on Jan. 18, Gonzaga is 7-0 against all teams other than Saint Mary’s, but 0-2 against the Gaels.

Previously among the top-ten favorites in the 2025 March Madness odds, the Zags have faded all the way to +5000 entering play on Tuesday.

The Gonzaga/Santa Clara player props are light on the Broncos’ side, with only Carlos Stewart (12.4 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 2.9 APG) listed with a point total of 12.5. Gonzaga leading scorer Graham Ike (16.8 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 1.4 APG) has the highest point total (17.5 O/U) and rebound total (7.5) of the night, while Ryan Nembhard (11.0 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 9.7 APG), the DI leader in assists, has an O/U of 9.5 dimes.

Notably absent from the props is Santa Clara’s leading scorer, Adama Ball (). The senior left the Broncos’ game against Loyola Marymount on Feb. 20th just 30 seconds in and then sat out his team’s 109-79 rout of Washington State on Saturday. He is expected to be available tonight.

Bal was crucial in SC’s road win at the Kennel earlier this season, scoring 20 points with four assists in 35 minutes.

Gonzaga vs Santa Clara Prediction

The Zags just aren’t the team that preseason prognostications expected them to be. Yes, they have their share of impressive wins but they are 3-8 against top-100 KenPom teams since November 27. Santa Clara already proved it has the horses (a.k.a. the athleticism) to hang with the Zags in Spokane, and I don’t see the rematch in Santa Clara going terribly differently.

This is going to be a tight game between two relatively equal teams. I strongly lean towards the Broncos against the spread catching 5.5 points. But I am even more interested in the Santa Clara moneyline at +205.
