Cejudo vs Song Prediction

Henry Cejudo returns to the cage for the first time in a year, as he aims to prove he still belongs amongst the MMA elite in the UFC’s bantamweight division. The former UFC flyweight and bantamweight division champion is known for his world-class wrestling and insanely high fight IQ. However, his ability to counter opponents’ and adjust on the fly has been diminished as “Triple C” pushes towards 40. Cejudo lost his last championship bout to Aljamain Sterling back in 2023, and suffered a decision loss against current champion Merab Dvalishvili last February.

On the other side of the cage, Song Yadong is a surging young contender who boasts explosive striking and speed to go along with a well-rounded skill set. At just 27 years old, the “Kung Fu Kid” has already fought 14 times in the UFC, and boast a strong record of 10-3-1. Song has sat out for almost a full year himself since a unanimous decision loss to Petr Yan. Now training with Team Alpha Male, Song will be aiming to use Cejudo as a building block to the next step of his career.

Expect to see Cejudo aim to impose his wrestling, close the distance and grind down Song. That being said, the speed and power advantage clearly favor the Chinese standout. Look for Song to stuff a few early takedowns and finish the former champion as the fight progresses.

Pick: Song Yadong to win (-265), Song Yadong to win by KO +200, Song Yadong to win by KO in Round 4 (+1600)

Allen vs Hernandez Prediction

In the UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs Strong co-main event, Brendan Allen and Anthony Hernandez square off in a pivotal middleweight clash. With each man sitting inside the top-10 fighters at 185 pounds, this middleweight clash could decide the next big contender. Allen has been on a absolute tear, losing only once in his last nine fights. He put together an impressive eight-fight winning streak, with five submission victories before falling to Nassourdine Imavov in September.

Likewise, Hernandez is an absolute beast. The Californian has won six straight bouts, and has finished his opponent in four straight contests. “Fluffy” has built a reputation as a relentless grappler with an insane gas tank. He often pushes the pace and overwhelms opponents. Hernandez disrupted the rhythm and timing of Michel Pereira and was able to finish the fight in October. He’ll look to test Allen’s cardio on Saturday night.

This co-main event will come down to who can establish control in grappling exchanges. Both men have the submission arsenal to end the fight at a moment’s notice. But, it’s tough to envision Allen having the strength to overwhelm Hernandez, or stop his merciless offensive onslaught.

Pick: Anthony Hernandez to win (-310)
