Up until the 2024 Presidential Election cycle, betting on US politics was reserved for folks outside of the US. Though we may see this change in the future, it had been illegal for US citizens to bet on their elections. Thanks to event trading platforms, this is no longer the case. Citizens from all 50 states can now legally trade contracts on who will win elections, as well as many other current events in the world of politics.

However, with access to sportsbooks outside of the US, we have tracked US political futures markets dating back to the 2016 Presidential term. These futures markets are almost always open, and see massive fluctuations from opening to close. Monitoring how these political futures markets have historically reacted to the news cycle can give you a massive leg up in betting them.
