This page tracked the Super Bowl 59 odds for all 32 teams in the NFL over the course of the 2024-25 NFL season. The 2025 Super Bowl took place on February 9, 2025, at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Eagles put a beating on the Chiefs to win the franchise’s second Super Bowl. Philadelphia won Super Bowl 59 by a score of 40-22. However, Philadelphia was the underdog in the game, and didn’t spend much time as the Super Bowl favorite all season. Look back at the Super Bowl 59 odds below to see how they changed throughout the season.
Super Bowl 59 Odds
The Chiefs were considered the favorites when we got to Super Bowl 59, with the Eagles serving as the underdogs, but both teams were doubted at different points of the 2024-25 NFL season.
The longest odds you could have gotten on Kansas City to win the Super Bowl this season were +1000 at opening. The longest odds they had during the season was +568, which came after Week 15 when it looked like Buffalo had a real shot to take the top seed in the AFC.
The longest odds available on the Eagles to win the Super Bowl in the 2024-25 NFL season were also at opening, when you could have bet them at +2200. The longest their odds were listed during the regular season came after Week 7, which was a game they did win but Washington was starting to look very good and appeared to be a real threat to Philadelphia in the NFC East.
The San Francisco 49ers were the early Super Bowl favorites this year, even though the Chiefs took them down in last year’s big game. However, Kansas City’s 2025 Super Bowl odds continued to steadily improve throughout the spring and summer, ultimately leading to the Chiefs becoming the new Super Bowl favorites in July.
Kansas City maintained the best odds to win the Super Bowl up until losing their first game of the season, which came in Week 11 at the hands of the Bills. After the loss, the Detroit Lions took over as the new Super Bowl favorites. Those same Bills went at beat the Lions in Week 15, though, making Buffalo the Super Bowl favorite for one week.
Detroit then took back the title of favorite after Week 16, only to see the Chiefs overtake them following Week 17. This was because the Lions found themselves in a Week 18 matchup with the Vikings, where the loser would get the fifth-seed in the NFC. After the Lions won the game, locking up the top seed in the NFC, they became the Super Bowl favorites again as the NFL playoffs prepare to kickoff, and remained the favorites until they were upset by the Commanders in the Divisional Round.
Kansas City took over as the favorite again after Detroit’s loss, but it was just temporary, as the Eagles became the new favorites after beating the Rams to advance to the NFC Championship. Philadelphia was also serving as a temporary favorite, though, as they had the much easier matchup in the Conference Championships. After the Chiefs beat the Bills in the AFC Championship, they moved to the favorites to win Super Bowl 59.
Super Bowl 59 Line Movement
Here are some notes on the movement of the top contenders for Super Bowl 59:
- [February 9] The Eagles beat the Chiefs 40-22 to win Super Bowl 59.
- [January 27] After the Eagles and Chiefs won their respective Conference Championships to advance to Super Bowl 59, Kansas City opened as 1.5-point favorites to win the 2025 Super Bowl.
- [January 19] As suspected, Philadelphia took over as the favorite to win the Super Bowl following their win over the Rams. The Eagles are being listed as the favorites because sportsbooks believe they have an easier path to the Super Bowl, as they prepare to host the Commanders.
- [January 18] Detroit, who was favored to win the Super Bowl when the Divisional Round started, was surprisingly upset by the Commanders in the second round of the NFL Playoffs. The Chiefs became the new Super Bowl favorites after the Lions’ loss, but the Eagles were very close behind, meaning if they manage to advance to the Conference Championships, they would overtake Kansas City as the favorites. Washington’s Super Bowl odds improved from +3000 to +550 after the big win, which punched their ticket to the NFC Championship.
- [January 5] The Lions beat the Vikings in the final game of the regular season to clinch both their division crown and the top seed in the NFC, which moved them back to being Super Bowl favorites entering the playoffs. The loss resulted in Minnesota’s Super Bowl odds fading from +900 to +1500.
- [December 31] After another impressive win in Week 17, sportsbooks believed the Chiefs were back. Kansas City moved back to the Super Bowl favorite for the first time since mid-November.
- [December 22] Buffalo’s reign as the Super Bowl favorite only lasted one week. Their narrow win over the Patriots, paired with Detroit’s dominance in Chicago, resulted in the Lions becoming the Super Bowl favorites again.
- [December 17] With the Bills beating the Lions in Week 15, Buffalo took over as the Super Bowl favorites for the first time this season. They were only the fourth different team to be favored at this point. The Bills’ odds improved from +626 to +425 after Week 15. Detroit’s Super Bowl odds faded from +266 to +550 after the loss, plus the devastating news of losing David Montgomery for the season.
- [December 3] After Week 13, the Kansas City Chiefs were no longer among the top two contenders to win the Super Bowl for the first time this season. Their near-loss to the Raiders on Black Friday resulted in both the Eagles and Bills jumping them in the odds.
- [November 26] The 49ers’ Super Bowl odds took a massive hit after a Week 12 loss to the Packers. San Francisco entered the weekend with +1200 odds, but were +8000 after losing 38-10 without starting QB Brock Purdy.
- [November 17] For the first time since July, the Kansas City Chiefs were not the Super Bowl favorites. The Chiefs lost to the Bills in Week 11, marking their first loss of the season, which opened the door for the Lions to take over as the new Super Bowl favorites.
- [October 22] The Lions handed the Vikings their first loss of the season in Week 7, and the 49ers took another loss, this time to the Chiefs. On top of that, Brandon Aiyuk suffered a season-ending knee injury and Deebo Samuel checked into the hospital with pneumonia. All of that led to San Francisco’s Super Bowl odds fading from +669 to +1200, allowing Baltimore and Detroit to move ahead of them.
- [October 15] After the Jets acquired Davante Adams from the Raiders and the Bills acquired Amari Cooper from the Bills, neither team saw any sort of significant change in their Super Bowl odds. Sportsbooks still felt the Jets had other problems, leaving their odds slightly longer than 30-1 at most sportsbooks, and still have the Chiefs and Ravens firmly ahead of the Bills.
- [October 8] The Ravens overtook the 49ers for the second-best odds to win the Super Bowl, behind the Chiefs, following another San Francisco loss in Week 5. The Bengals and Jets, both of whom have suffered from slow starts, have seen their odds take another big dip. Cincinnati went from +2625 to +3500, while the Jets went from +2025 to +3000 after a loss in London that resulted in their coach, Robert Saleh, being fired.
- [September 30] The Chiefs’ Super Bowl odds went from +475 to +550 after Rashee Rice went down in Week 4 with what’s feared to be a torn ACL. They still remained the favorites, but San Francisco closed the gap a bit. The Vikings were finally moved into the top ten contenders for Super Bowl odds after a 4-0 start. Minnesota’s odds improved from +2560 to +1700, with some sportsbooks listing them as short as +1200.
- [September 23] The 49ers didn’t see their Super Bowl odds change much after losing their second straight game in Week 3. The Bills have closed the gap between them and the Chiefs & 49ers. Buffalo’s second dominant win in a row has seen their odds improve to as short as +800. Houston’s high came to an end in Week 3, though, as they were blown out by the Vikings, sending their odds from +1100 to +1800. The Vikings, the team who handed Houston that bad loss, still remain a distant +2500 in the Super Bowl odds after wins over the 49ers and Texans pushed them to 3-0. Minnesota did at least improve from +4700.
- [September 16] The Packers rebounded after seeing their odds plummet following QB Jordan Love going down with a knee injury. Green Bay got a win over the Colts with backup Malik Willis under center, and their Super Bowl odds bounced back from +3500 to +2200. The Dolphins’ odds went from +2000 to +4000 with Tua Tagovailoa’s very uncertain future following another concussion. Sportsbooks are only really buying into one of the teams who provided one of Week 2’s many massive upsets: the Saints saw their odds to win the Super Bowl improve from +6000 to +3500 after an extremely impressive win over the Cowboys. None of the Raiders, Vikings, or Buccaneers saw much movement in their Super Bowl futures.
- [September 9] After a shocking loss at the hands of the Patriots in Week 1, the Bengals saw their Super Bowl odds dip from +1400 to +2000. The Browns, who were seen as outside contenders entering the season, faded from +3750 to +6000 after a truly awful showing against the Cowboys. The Packers also saw their odds plummet from +1800 to +3500 after not only losing to the Eagles in Week 1, but also losing Jordan Love for what sounds like 3-6 weeks.
- [September 5] The true Super Bowl contenders saw very little Super Bowl odds movement throughout the preseason and leading up to kickoff. The three teams who have seen some movement are the New England Patriots, New York Giants, and Denver Broncos. The Patriots and Giants saw their odds worsen significantly, though they were already very long, while the Broncos went from having the second-worst odds to third-worst.
- [July 1] Though nothing has changed on either roster, the Kansas City Chiefs have overtaken the San Francisco 49ers as the favorites to win Super Bowl 59. This movement is simply the result of money coming in on the Chiefs.
- [April 29] The NFL Draft didn’t bring about too much movement in the Super Bowl odds. Miami saw their odds fade a little, going from +2020 to +2343 after a somewhat underwhelming draft that saw them select Chop Robinson, who is quite raw and would ideally find himself behind Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips on the depth chart, in the first round, followed by Patrick Paul, who projects to also be a backup this season, in the second round. The Steelers saw the biggest odds improvement, going from +6520 to +4643 after adding two starting offensive limen with their first two picks as well as Roman Wilson, who may be their second-best receiver, and Payton Wilson, the draft’s second-best ILB.
- [April 4] The Houston Texans have acquired Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills. Houston’s Super Bowl odds went from +2180, which were already 11th-best in the NFL, to +1471, making them a top-seven contender. The Bills saw their odds fade a little from +1140 to +1300 with the loss of their top wide receiver.
- [March 11] The Falcons have seen their Super Bowl odds improve from +4000 to +2800 after signing Kirk Cousins in free agency. Saquon Barkley landing in Philadelphia has improved the Eagles’ odds, but only slightly.
- [January 29] After the Chiefs downed the Ravens in last year’s AFC Championship, they have seen their Super Bowl 59 odds improve as well. Kansas City now has the second-best odds to win the 2025 Super Bowl.
- [January 21] Super Bowl 59 odds have already opened and the 49ers are the clear favorites at +550 odds. The Bills opened with the second-best odds, followed by the Ravens and then the Chiefs. The biggest surprise (to some) might be the Lions tied with the Bengals for the fifth-best odds
