After the first four tournaments in 2025 lacked a ton of star power, the second signature event on the PGA Tour calendar see the worlds best head to Pebble Beach, California. Scottie Scheffler will make his season debut after hurting his hand in an accident over the holidays, and Rory McIlroy will also make his first start of 2025 in the States. Last year, 2023 U.S. open champion Wyndham Clark fired a course round 60 in the third round, and went on to win when the final round was cancelled due to storms.

Scottie Scheffler is the clear frontrunner, as he’s coming off a monster eight-win campaign. Rory McIlroy won to close out his 2024 season at the DP World Tour Championship, then was T-4th in his 2025 inaugural tourney at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour. Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and Ludvig Aberg round out the top-five contenders. If you’re interested in placing a wager on 2017 champ Jordan Spieth (in his return from wrist surgery), he has far better +8000 value at BetMGM compared to +4500 on DraftKings to win outright.

Can Jason Day Finally Win at Pebble Beach?

Jason Day has been absolutely spectacular around Pebble Beach in his career, and has done absolutely everything but lift the trophy. He’s posted a remarkable nine finishes of seventh or better, with a tie for second in 2018 his closest call. In the last 24 rounds at this track, he’s second in strokes gained: around the green, fourth in total strokes gained, sixth tee-to-green and eighth in putting.

Since 2015, he’s been no worse than 24th here, with seven top-10s in nine attempts. He’s also coming in with good form, having posted a tie for third at the American Express two starts ago, and was solid at Torrey Pines. His +3500 number is quite easy to digest, given that it’s an almost virtual certainty he’ll find himself in contention come Sunday.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2025 Predictions, Picks and Value Bets

  1. Adam Scott (+6000): Adam Scott was scorching hot last summer, racking up five straight top-20s, four of which were top-10s, and three of them were top-4s. In that span, he posted a pair of runner-ups. He ended 2024 with a tie for third at the DP World Tour Championship, and he had a solid T-15th showing at the Sentry, which opened his season. Scott was also tied for seventh at this venue in the 2019 U.S. Open. The Aussie is second in total strokes gained the last 24 rounds on tour.
  2. Matt Fitzpatrick (+8000): Matt Fitzpatrick wasn’t quite as sharp the second half of the 2024, but these are intriguing odds. He was tied for sixth at this track in 2022, and T-12th in the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble. Has proven he can win against elite fields, taking the 2022 U.S. Open and the 2023 RBC Heritage, which was a signature event.
  3. Justin Rose (+15000): Awfully great value for a player who won this tournament in 2023, was T-11th a year ago and tied for third at this track when the U.S. Open was held here in 2019.
