Dern vs Ribas 2 Prediction

Amanda Ribas took home a unanimous decision victory way back in 2019 to hand Mackenzie Dern the first loss of her MMA career. The Minas Gerais native will be looking to repeat that performance when these two square off on Saturday night. Ribas has alternated wins and losses in each of her past six fights, with the latest coming as a decision loss to Rose Namajunas in March of 2024.

On the other side of the cage, Dern has gone just 3-3 in the cage since 2021. The Black House MMA product sports a 9-5 record in the UFC and defeated Lupita Godinez by decision in her last bout in August. Known for her world-class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Dern has improved her striking significantly in the past few years. Relying on her ability to close the distance and drag opponents into grappling exchanges is her best chance at victory.

Ribas’ utilized her crisp striking and effective takedown defense to neuralize Dern’s attacks in their first matchup. While the American has improved, it’s tough to see Dern overcoming Ribas’ diverse skill set. Her striking is far more polished and she’s shown the ability to handle grappling heavy opponents. Look for Ribas to stay on the outside and pick her shots en route to another decision win.

Pick: Amanda Ribas by decision (-105)

Ponzinibbio vs Harris Prediction

Veteran welterweights Santiago Ponzinibbio and Carlston Harris clash in a welterweight bout that is sure to provide fireworks. A seasoned striker, Ponzinibbio will aim to get back in the win column after losing four of his last five fights. Known for his aggressive striking and knockout power, the “Argentine Dagger” will look to keep this fight standing and pressure Harris with his technical striking.

Meanwhile, Carlston Harris is more of a ground specialist. He’s secured six victories via submission in his career, and will undoubtedly aim to get this scrap on the mat. Harris has won two of his last three fights but was ruthlessly knocked out by Khaos Williams in his last bout.

With 22 finishes in his career, Ponzinibbio will be looking for the knockout blow. Bet on him to find it in a UFC Fight Night co-main event that has Fight of the Night potential.

Pick: Santiago Ponzinibbio by knockout (+210)
