The Pistons are still a very young team and it’s logical to expect improvement from Monty Williams’ team, especially if Cade Cunningham can stay healthy. But the Pacers are also a team on the rise. They vastly exceeded expectations last year by grabbing the #6 seed in the East, and they completely dominated all four of their matchups with the Pistons.

Indiana went 4-0 against the NBA’s worst team last season, and not one of the four games was decided by fewer than seven points. Three of the four were decided by 14 or more, and Indiana PG Tyrese Haliburton absolutely shredded Detroit. He averaged 21.3 PPG and 10.8 APG in the Pacers’ four lopsided victories.

Haliburton also came out of the gate flying last season, so don’t expect a lot of rust. He recorded at least 11 assists in each of his first five games, and hit double-digit assists in nine of his first ten.

Oft-injured Detroit point guard Cade Cunningham has the highest point total for Wednesday’s game, listed at 24.5 O/U. Pascal Siakam is tops among Indiana players at 22.5 while Tyrese Haliburton has the highest assist total at 9.5. Haliburton led the NBA in assists last season, averaging 10.9 APG, 1.1 more than any other player.

Cunningham averaged 22.7 PPG last year in 62 games.

Best Pacers vs Pistons Odds

There isn’t a huge range in the Pacers vs Pistons odds at this point. There is a half-point variance in the spread. Pistons bettors can get Detroit +5.5 (-110) at BetMGM. Pacers backers can get Indiana -5.0 (-110) at basically every other sportsbook, including DraftKings, ESPN Bet, and Caesars.
