Phoenix teammates and 2024 Olympic gold medalists Devin Booker (25.5) and Kevin Durant (24.5) have the highest point totals on Wednesday night. With Kawhi Leonard out (knee inflammation), James Harden has the highest total among LAC players at 22.5, followed by Norman Powell at 18.5.
Phoenix big man Jusuf Nurkic is the only player with a double-digit rebound total (10.5 O/U).
Durant enters the new season as the 12th-favorite in the NBA MVP odds at +7040 on average.
Suns vs Clippers Predictions
Though they made the playoffs with relative ease, Phoenix was one of the biggest disappointments in the league last season. As evidenced by their horrendous 35-49-2 ATS record last year, expectations were much higher for the trio of Durant, Booker, and Beal.
But with George gone and Leonard out, the Clippers roster has a decimated look to it. The addition of Derrick Jones Jr (9.1 PPG, 3.5 RPG) from the Mavs really doesn’t move the needle. The 35-year-old James Harden (21.2 PPG, 8.0 APG) is going to have to shoulder a massive load at the offensive end.
Home-court advantage or otherwise, the Clippers are going to be overmatched by a healthy Suns group that should have better chemistry in its second year together.
