In the biggest game of the week, the #1 Longhorns have opened as 3.5-point home favorites over Georgia, which already suffered a 41-34 loss at Alabama.

Down in Knoxville, the Volunteers are 1.5-point home underdogs to Kalen DeBoer’s suddenly-struggling Crimson Tide. After getting upset by Vanderbilt as three-touchdown favorites, Alabama barely held onto beat South Carolina (27-25) yesterday, needing to stop a two-point conversion in the final minute to avoid OT.
Coming off their heart-pounding win over the Buckeyes, Oregon gets a cupcake matchup against Purdue in Week 8. The Ducks have opened as 30.5-point road favorites, the biggest spread of the week so far.
Georgia leapfrogged Ohio State back to the top of the national championship odds while Oregon is now as short as +450.
Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty continues to lead the Heisman odds after rushing for another 217 yards and a TD in a 28-7 win at Hawai’i.

Early NCAAF Week 8 Pick: BYU moneyline (-245) vs OK State – 2.45 units
The wheels have completely come off the OK State bus. After a 3-0 start, the Cowboys lost three straight, most recently getting pounded 38-14 at home by West Virginia in Week 6. The only thing OK State has going for is that Week 7 was a much-needed bye.
But that’s not going to be enough to stop the bleeding when they face 6-0 BYU in Provo. Not only are the Cougars 6-0 SU, they’re also 6-0 against the number, one of only two unbeaten ATS teams heading into Week 8. (Army is the other.) Preseason expectations – BYU’s win total was just 4.5 – are out the window by this point, and a 41-19 housing of Arizona yesterday only pushed them further into the rearview mirror.

Junior QB Jake Retzlaff has taken massive strides in his second year as a starter but it’s the defense that’s the real MVP of this team. BYU has held five of six opponents to 19 points or fewer and is averaging just 16.3 PPG.
