Kings Hoping Road Success Continues
Sacramento has been solid away from home this season, compiling a 21-16 road record. They’ll look to improve on that mark during this tough four-game East Coast swing that also includes visits to Boston, Brooklyn, and Oklahoma City.
The Kings rank 12th in the NBA in field goal percentage (47.2%) and play at the league’s 5th-fastest pace. Head coach Mike Brown will try to push the tempo against a Knicks squad that prefers a more methodical, defensive-minded approach.

Sacramento’s high-octane offense is led by lightning-quick point guard De’Aaron Fox, who is enjoying a career year with averages of 26.3 points and 6.6 assists per game. His backcourt mate, sharpshooter Kevin Huerter (15.0 ppg, 40.8% 3PT), is out for the season with a shoulder injury, a significant blow to the Kings’ spacing and perimeter scoring.
In the frontcourt, Domantas Sabonis has been a walking double-double, extending his NBA record to 58 straight games with 22 points and 20 rebounds against the Clippers. The All-Star is stuffing the stat sheet with 19.6 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 8.3 assists nightly. His playmaking and interior scoring will be crucial against a stout Knicks defense.
Other key contributors for the Kings include rookie Keegan Murray (12.3 ppg, 38.6% 3PT), Malik Monk (15.4 ppg), and Harrison Barnes (14.8 ppg). However, Monk will miss this game and several weeks with a knee injury, further depleting Sacramento’s depth.
Knicks Battling Attrition
The Knicks have dropped three straight close games to the Spurs (130-126 in OT), Thunder (113-112), and Heat (109-99). However, the last time they faced the Kings, they went into Sacramento and emerged with a hard-fought 98-91 win behind 42 points from Jalen Brunson.
Injuries have hit the Knicks hard lately, with Julius Randle (shoulder) out for the season and OG Anunoby (elbow) still sidelined indefinitely. The frontcourt duo’s absence has been felt during New York’s three-game skid, especially on the defensive end where they surrender size and versatility.

New York will also be without key reserves Josh Hart (wrist) and Mitchell Robinson (ankle) in this contest. The Knicks’ depth will be tested, but they’ve received strong contributions from the likes of Donte DiVincenzo, Miles McBride, and Isaiah Hartenstein in expanded roles.
As usual, the Knicks will rely heavily on Brunson to carry the offense. The crafty lefty is averaging a career-high 27.8 points and 6.6 assists in his second season in the Big Apple. He’ll be tasked with breaking down the Kings’ 25th-ranked defense off the dribble and creating good looks for his teammates.
Defensively, the Knicks rank 2nd in the league in points allowed (107.5 ppg) and will aim to slow the pace and force the Kings into a half-court game. New York’s 8th-ranked defensive rebounding percentage will be put to the test against an elite offensive rebounding team in Sacramento (4th in NBA).

Sacramento Kings vs New York Knicks Prediction
This should be a competitive, down-to-the-wire affair between two evenly-matched teams jockeying for playoff positioning. The Knicks’ homecourt advantage and strong defense give them a slight edge, but the Kings’ explosive offense is always a threat to go off, even without Huerter and Monk.
A key betting trend is that the total has gone under in eight of the last 10 head-to-head meetings between these teams. It’s also 5-1 in the Knicks’ last six home games. We’ve factored this into our Kings vs Knicks prediction tonight.
In the end, we lean towards the Knicks to cover the 3.5-point spread in a hard-fought battle. Brunson will make just enough plays in crunch time to overcome big nights from Fox and Sabonis. We also like the under 213 points given the Knicks’ defensive ability and slower tempo.
