Brewers Go for Three Straight Against Reeling Dodgers

- The Brewers are tied with the Cubs for 1st in the NL Central boasting a 63-47 record
- The Dodgers are on a losing skid and are 0.5 game behind the Diamondbacks for 1st in the NL West
- Game three of a four game series starts August 1st at 10:10 PM EST
The trade deadline has passed, with the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers making moves in the final day to bolster their depth charts for the playoff race. Both teams should be ready with their new additions for game three which looks like a potential playoff matchup. First pitch is set for 10:10 PM EST from Dodger Stadium.
The Brewers have won the first two games of the series in decisive fashion and have spoiled Manny Machado’s LA homecoming.
The Brewers
The Brewers were arguably the biggest winners of the trade deadline. Milwaukee added stud third baseman Mike Moustakas, then went and added Jonathan Schoop from the Orioles. These moves allow Travis Shaw to play more of a utility role and spread power throughout the lineup.
With the Orioles Schoop has hit .254 with 12 home runs. An All-Star in 2017, Schoop struggled with injuries early in the year but has improved as of late. He joins a unit that has NL BA leader Christian Yelich batting .321. Yelich is currently riding a 15-game hitting streak.

Right hander Chase Anderson takes the mound for the Brewers. Anderson has not allowed more then two runs in his last seven outings but only has two wins in that stretch. On July 21st Anderson gave up six hits and and two runs for a 4-2 win over the Dodgers. Anderson has a 3.69 ERA and 1.17 WHIP this season.
The Dodgers
The Dodgers trade deadline moves show that the front office thinks this is the year to make a run for the World Series. After adding Manny Machado, the Dodgers went and got Brian Dozier. Dozier is hitting .224 with 16 HR and eight steals this season. The move gives the Dodgers positional depth across the lineup for the final two months of the season. The Dodgers also added relief pitcher John Axford, who has a career 3.78 ERA.

However, the trade deadline moves have not led to more wins. The Dodgers are in the midst of a three game losing streak, and are 6-6 since the All-Star break. The moves made by the Dodgers need to start paying their dividends soon or LA will be chasing the rolling Diamondbacks and Rockies.
Left hander Rich Hill takes the mound for the Dodgers. In his last outing he pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out eight for the win over Atlanta. Hill has a 3.82 ERA and 1.30 WHIP for the season. On July 20 Hill gave up one run over six innings for a win over the Brewers.

Brewers vs Dodgers Score Prediction
The Brewers hitters are hot, and Anderson has pitched well of late. The Dodgers haven’t seemed to find their groove yet with the new additions so I’m giving this one to Milwaukee.
