- The Astros sit atop the AL West with a five game lead over Mariners
- The Rockies sit two games back from the Dodgers in the NL West
- Game one of the two game series starts July 24, at 8:40 PM EST from Coors Field
The Houston Astros travel to Coors Field for a quick two game interleague series. The Rockies have been on a roll, winning their last seven of ten as they look to keep up with the stocked L.A. Dodgers. Game time is at 8:40 PM EST.
Houston Astros
The Houston Astros are continually showing baseball fans that this team is a dynasty in the making. If the team wins a 100 or more games, they will be the first team to do so in consecutive seasons since World War II.
The Astros currently lead the majors in ERA and are fourth in OPS+. Their starting rotation has the lowest combined ERA, and their relievers are second in the league. The Astros possess high end talent that shows up on the field both offensively and defensively.
The Astros' run-differential is up to plus-193, which is 34 runs higher than the second-place Red Sox. They lead the Majors in ERA and rank fourth in OPS, so, um, yeah.

Jose Altuve leads the team with a .328 batting average. Second year player, and first time All-Star, Alex Bergman is showing the league that can hit with power. He leads the Astros with 20 home runs, and 66 RBI.
Gerrit Cole takes the mound with a 10-2 record. Cole has struck out 177 batters over 20 starts, but has given up multiple walks in each of his last eight outings.
Carlos Correa is still on the ten-day DL, retroactive to July 23rd. The Astros are being cautious with Correa, but have faired well in his absence, going 14-8.
Colorado Rockies
The Rockies starters will have to share the brunt of the load, if the Rockies are to make the playoffs. The young pitching staff currently has the seventh best WAR, a great surprise for a staff that is 29 or younger and making a combined $4.25 million this year.
The Rockies seven-game win streak was snapped Sunday with a 6-1 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Rockies seven-game win streak was snapped Sunday with a 6-1 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Rockies will look to start another win streak with a five-game home stand with two games against the Astros, followed by a three games against the Athletics.
Left hander Tyler Anderson takes the mound with a 6-3 record and 3.72 ERA. In Anderson’s last four outings he has allowed two runs or less, and he pitched into the eighth inning in two of those games.

The Rockies will be without two-time All-Star DJ Lemahieu. Lemahieu was placed on the ten-day DL Friday with an oblique strain.

Astros vs Rockies Score Prediction
Cole may be the least formidable pitcher of Houston’s starting rotation. Anderson has been on a roll of late, so expect the Rockies to squeak out a much needed win.
