  • After a dramatic semi-final, the Wimbledon Men’s Singles final is upon us.
  • Can Kevin Anderson overcome incredible odds?

After two classic semi-final matches, Kevin Anderson will play Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final on Sunday (July 15, 9:00 AM ET). Djokovic is heavily favored, although sportsbooks are giving Anderson a fighting chance.

In a shocking turn of events, the semi-final between Kevin Anderson and John Isner took a really long time and was not particularly fun to watch. It was only made interesting by how long it lasted: at six hours and 35 minutes it is the second-longest match in Wimbledon history.

After winning the longest match in Wimbledon history against Nicolas Mahut in 2010, John Isner lost to Thiemo de Bakker in the shortest match of his Wimbledon career. Playing extended tennis wears on players in a very powerful way, so it’s not surprising for Kevin Anderson to be listed at extremely long odds in this match. He is 1-5 in matches against Djokovic (1-5), and also ran a marathon on Friday.
