WWE has done an exceptional job of building up SummerSlam 2023 as a can’t-miss event, and when it emanates live from Ford Field in Detroit this Saturday, August 5, it should go down as an absolute spectacle.
Undisputed WWE Universal champion Roman Reigns finds himself headlining once again, this time in a Tribal Combat match against former Bloodline stablemate Jey Uso. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor for the World Heavyweight Championship is also being advertised as a main event, along with the rubber match between Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes.
Ahead of the anticipated event, let’s take a look at the favorites that are expected to emerge victorious in the biggest bouts at WWE SummerSlam 2023, according to our own betting odds and analysis.

Intercontinental Championship Prediction
Following a three-month hiatus, Drew McIntyre resurfaced at Money in the Bank to rekindle his rivalry with Gunther over the Intercontinental title. He’s easily the biggest threat Gunther has faced to date, which puts the outcome of their upcoming clash into question.

McIntyre may end up being the one to take the title from Gunther, but it shouldn’t be at SummerSlam with Gunther being so close to breaking The Honky Tonk Man’s all-time record, giving Gunther a slight edge in the odds at -125.
WWE Women’s Championship Best Bet
In the months that Asuka, Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair have been feuding over the WWE Women’s Championship, current champ Asuka has come off as the ultimate afterthought. That’s exactly why she’s the favorite to steal the win and retain at +125.

Flair and Belair can continue to feud without the gold up for grabs. Although Asuka can be expected to win this Triple Threat, the possibility of Iyo Sky cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase afterward shouldn’t be ruled out.
Rhodes vs Lesnar Pick
The Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes rivalry has largely been in a holding pattern since it started in April because a reason was never provided why Lesnar targeted Rhodes in the first place. Despite that, they’ll finally settle their score when they meet in a rubber match at SummerSlam, which should and will be won by The American Nightmare.

Of the five featured matches on the card, he’s the firmest favorite at -900 in the odds because it’s the only outcome that makes sense. Lesnar can absorb the loss while Rhodes resumes his pursuit of the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
World Heavyweight Championship Prediction
Seth Rollins has proven to be a fighting World Heavyweight champion and a massive thorn in the side of The Judgment Day. However, being outnumbered might be too much for him to overcome on Saturday night and lead to him losing the newly-created title.

Balor capturing the championship would give every member of the group an accolade of some sort, but it’s too soon for Rollins’ reign to end. At -300, look for The Visionary to retain once again.
Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Best Bet
Tribal Combat essentially ensures that Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso will have no disqualifications, but that doesn’t increase Jey’s chances of victory too dramatically. He was able to hand Reigns a rare pinfall loss in tag team action last month at Money in the Bank and it’s virtually impossible for him to pull it off for a second straight time.

Reigns retaining isn’t a sure-fire guarantee if Reigns is going to miss a majority of the remainder of 2023, but all signs point to Rhodes ultimately dethroning Reigns at WrestleMania 39. Reigns is the best bet at -400 with Jey being made to look strong in defeat.
