Tigres vs Leon Preview
Since the introduction of the CONCACAF Champions League, Tigres has been one of the more successful clubs. They took home the grand prize in 2020 after beating LAFC in the final while also finishing as runners-up in 2016, 2017, and 2019. This club regularly finds itself in the latter stages of the tournament.

Roberto Siboldi’s men come into Tuesday’s encounter in respectable form, tasting defeat just once in their last five outings. Last Thursday, UANL grabbed a crucial three points in a 1-0 victory over Puebla thanks to a penalty from their French superstar, Andre-Pierre Gignac.
Tigres managed just two shots on target despite 20 attempts though and will need to be a lot more ruthless in the final third against Leon. Gignac is always lethal in this matchup, scoring 11 goals in his career versus The Green and Whites.
Leon doesn’t have the same resume in the Champions League as their semifinal opponents, but they did win the Leagues Cup in 2021 and made the quarterfinals last year before running into title-holders Seattle. In 1993, Leon did finish as a runner-up when it was known as the Champions Cup, but the competition had a much different look back then.

Nicolas Larcamon’s group is playing rather poor football currently, last notching a victory in league play on March 24th against Mazatlan. Since then, Leon has settled for three draws and a 2-0 defeat to Guadalajara in the middle of the month. Not ideal ahead of such a crucial fixture.

Tigres vs Leon History
Historically Tigres holds the edge when these two teams meet. Los Tigres have won 11, drawn nine and lost eight of the 28 all-time meetings between the teams.
However, Leon won the last match, but that was back in September, by a 1-0 score.
This will actually be the first of three consecutive games between these sides. They’ll play tonight in the CCL, April 30 in Liga MX, and again on May 3 in the CCL.
Tigres vs Leon Prediction
Tigres is in respectable form and Leon is not. It’s also difficult to look past the hosts’ track record in the CCL. I expect them to grab an important victory on home soil Tuesday before the second leg on the road next week. Take the moneyline for your Tigres vs Leon prediction.
