The Colorado Rockies (6-16, 3-9 away) and the Philadelphia Phillies (10-12, 5-4 home) will wrap up a four-game set on Sunday afternoon. The first pitch is scheduled for 12:05 PM ET at Citizens Bank Park.
The Phils have won the last two games of this series against Colorado, both by 4-3 scorelines. Jose Urena and Zack Wheeler go to battle on the mound in the rubber match.
Rockies vs Phillies Odds
Team | Moneyline | Runline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Colorado Rockies | +235 | +1.5 (+125) | Ov 9 (-110) |
Philadelphia Phillies | -290 | -1.5 (-150) | Un 9 (-110) |
The Phillies are a heavy -290 moneyline favorite for an implied win probability of 74.36%. The Rox come back at +235 and have just a 29.85% chance of taking the finale. Philly is 7-1 in their last eight against Colorado.

Colorado vs Philadelphia Probable Pitchers
Urena is off to a pretty rough start in 2023, which isn’t surprising since the Rockies are struggling in all facets. The 31-year-old is 0-3 in four starts with a 9.82 ERA, walking 10 in 14.2 innings and striking out just nine. His WHIP also sits at 2.32.
The Dominican last pitched on April 18th, surrendering five earned runs across 4.2 frames against the Pirates, ultimately taking the loss. He’s faced the Phillies a lot in his career, posting a 4.62 ERA in 18 outings.
Urena vs Wheeler Stats
0-3 | Record | 1-1 |
9.82 | ERA | 4.79 |
14.2 | Innings Pitched | 20.2 |
9 | Strikeouts | 23 |
10 | Walks | 7 |
Wheeler is typically dominant, but he’s not pitching too well through four starts. The veteran owns a 4.79 ERA, issuing seven walks in 20.2 innings and striking out 23. On a more positive note, he’s gone at least five innings in his previous three appearances.

Last time out, Wheeler tossed four frames against the White Sox, giving up four earned runs. Thankfully, he got some run support and ended up collecting his very first win of the campaign. However, Wheeler tends to struggle vs Colorado, compiling an ERA over five.

Philly Starting to Improve
After struggling early on, the Phillies are starting to turn things around over the last week, winning three of four. They also got some great pitching across the last two days, with Aaron Nola and Cristopher Sanchez putting forward quality starts.

The long ball proved to be the difference-maker Saturday for one of the scariest MLB lineups, as Nick Castellanos went deep twice. Christian Pache also slugged a homer. Philadelphia had just seven hits, but they were timely.
Another Rough Year For Colorado
It may be just 22 games in, but the Rockies are likely going to be in for another horrid campaign. They rank 24th in runs scored, 16th in average, and 20th in homers. On the mound, Colorado has a team ERA of 5.42. Certainly not a recipe for success.
Not one starter owns an ERA under 3.80 and that’s Kyle Freeland. He managed to pitch a decent ballgame Saturday, but there was minimal run support, as per usual.
Rockies vs Phillies Prediction
Even though Wheeler doesn’t typically thrive against the Rockies, his ERA is 2.38 at home in 2023. I expect him to shove. Also, the Phillies have covered in five of the previous seven victories versus Colorado. Take the runline.
Pick: Phillies -1.5 (-142)
