After Jon Rahm won the Masters for his second career major title, the PGA Tour heads to South Carolina for the RBC Heritage. Typically this event is unable to attract a ton of star power a week after the Masters, but with it being a designated event, most of the big names are teeing it up. Rory McIlroy and Will Zalatoris, however, have withdrawn from competition. The winners share has gone up from $1.44 million in 2022 to $3.6M this year.

Harbour Town Golf Links is a tree-lined course with the tiniest greens on the PGA Tour, so accuracy and precision are more at a premium than a lot of other golf tournaments. Last year, Jordan Spieth defeated Patrick Cantlay in a playoff. Eight of the last ten iterations of this championship have resulted in either a one stroke victory or a playoff was required to determine a champion.

Fresh off his first career green jacket at the Masters, Jon Rahm is co-favorite at +800 to win outright. He’s joined by Scottie Scheffler, who has won the WM Phoenix Open and Players Championship this season. Rory McIlroy was meant to tee it up, but he wound up withdrawing Monday morning (undisclosed).

1. Shane Lowry (+3000): Shane Lowry was on the periphery of contention at Augusta National before settling for a top-20. He’s had strong success at the Heritage, with a pair of third place showings and another top-10 in his last four outings. In his last twelve spins around this track, he’s first in strokes gained: approach, second in total strokes gained, and third in SG: tee-to-green and ball striking.
2. Sahith Theegala (+6500): Sahith Theegala has carried over his stellar rookie form in his sophomore season, as he comes in having posted a top-10 at the Masters. In half of his last six stroke play starts, he’s put up a top-10, including other designed events at Torrey Pines (T-4th), and Riviera (T-6th).
