Oilers vs Ducks Recent History
Wednesday night’s matchup marks the fourth and final meeting of the season between these Pacific Division rivals and their second clash in five days. The Oilers skated to a one-sided 6-0 victory when they hosted the Ducks on Saturday night and have now earned the win in eight of their past 11 head-to-head tilts including four wins in five visits to Anaheim.
The Oilers have limited the Ducks to two or fewer goals in three of four meetings, but with Edmonton scoring six or more goals six times, the OVER has gone 8-1 over their past nine matchups.
Edmonton Oilers Betting Outlook
The Oilers have received big performances at both ends of the ice during an impressive 10-0-1 run that has put the top of the Pacific Division standings in reach. The club has 4.64 goals per game during their 11-game surge and have received sensational goaltending. Particularly from Stuart Skinner, who has allowed just one total goal in his two starts over the past week.
The road has been a bit tougher for Wednesday’s starter Jack Campbell, who allowed 32 goals over a seven-start run before turning in a 36-save shutout performance in Saturday’s win over the Ducks.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has continued to produce during his unheralded march to 100 points. RNH sits just one point shy of hitting the century mark for the first time in his career after piling up five goals and 15 points over his past eight games, and has picked up four total points in three dates with Anaheim this season.
Anaheim Ducks Betting Outlook
Goals have come at a premium during the Ducks’ epic late-season slide. The club has been limited to two or fewer goals six times while scoring an average of just 1.63 goals per game over their 0-8 run.
Anaheim netminders have also been largely left to fend for themselves while facing an average 40.3 shots on goal per game during the team’s current swoon. Indeed, no goalie has seen more rubber this season than John Gibson, who ranks second in total shots faced with 1948, just 12 fewer than league leader Juusse Saros in six fewer games.
John Gibson set a new season-high for saves on Saturday. His previous total of 1,733 in 2017-18 has been surpassed by his 1,752 (and counting) saves this season.#FlyTogether

The Ducks’ current woes have coincided with a drop in production from Trevor Zegras. The team’s leading scorer has potted just one goal over his past 12 outings, and just two total points during the club’s eight-game losing streak.
Oilers vs Ducks Prediction
With just four games remaining on their schedule, the Oilers cannot afford to look past Wednesday’s date with Anaheim if they are to take a run at first place in the division.
In addition to maintaining their current offensive pace, the club must pay attention to defensive responsibilities after allowing 17 total goals while losing two of their past three when playing the back half of games scheduled on consecutive nights.
However, with the Ducks far from in order, look for the Oil to work on fundamentals and still dominate on Wednesday night.
The Pick: Oilers -1.5 (-135); UNDER 7 (-105)
