Monday Night Football in England features Everton vs Tottenham, in what should be a thrilling contest. Both teams are the brink of respective capitulation , which makes this match all the more important. For Everton, they sit dangerously close to the relegation zone, an outcome that is seriously realistic given the Premier League’s claims of financial breaches. If true, the Toffees could face a point deduction this season. While Sean Dyche’s side is playing more balanced football, their looming fate has made for some tense moments around Goodison Park in recent months.
Conversely, things have not been any brighter over in North London at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Daniel Levy parted ways with manager Antonio Conte and their sporting director stepped down at the end of the week. The club is experiencing major upheavals and they are barely grasping onto the final Champions League qualifying spot. With Brighton and Bournemouth on the horizon, this period of winnable games could be the most important stretch of their campaign.
Everton vs Tottenham Odds
Matchup | Moneyline Odds |
---|---|
Everton | +235 |
Tottenham | +120 |
Draw | +240 |
Overall, Tottenham are the moneyline favorites at +120 in the Premier League odds. While their 5-4-5 away record in the Premier League is concerning, they are 10-8-2 against Everton in their last twenty head-to-head matches across all competitions. Moreover, Everton have also failed to score in three consecutive matches against Tottenham. With Harry Kane on piping hot form, a 45.5% implied win probability for Spurs seems more than fair.

Everton vs Tottenham Over/Under
Additionally, the match’s goal tally is expected to stay fairly tame. In fact, the under on 2.5 total goals has odds of -130, while the reverse option sits at +105. In their last ten head-to-head matches, this play has gone 50% in either direction. When you look at each side’s last five matches, the over and under at 2.5 goals is also deadlocked. The only discernible advantage in regards to the goal tally is that matches at Goodison Park have stayed under 2.5 total goals at a clip of 65% this year. Still, at -130, this play does not have enough value to consider anything serious.
Everton vs Tottenham Props – Harry Kane to Score
Instead, I plan on putting a lot of faith in Harry Kane scoring on Monday. The English forward has five goals in his last four matches for both club and country and will look to add to his 23-goal tally for Spurs this season. While his odds to score anytime are only +115, he has scored 15 times against Everton in just 16 appearances. With six braces against the Toffees, I would label this play as surefire.

How Will Christian Stellini Impact This Match?
Now, what should we expect in terms of the match itself? To start, I think it would be naïve to think Tottenham can walk into Everton and just romp them. Goodison Park has proved to be a difficult place to play in the last year, especially when fans have been threatened by the drop. The gritty atmosphere lifts Everton and they have played wonderfully at home under Dyche.

With that being said, my focus is actually on the other side of the pitch. I think Tottenham have a slight edge here with Christain Stellini taking the reigns from Conte. Stellini won all four games he managed earlier in the year while Conte was ill, a run that included victories over Marseille, Manchester City, West Ham and Chelsea. In reality, Stellini might not be the best technical manager. But, the emotional boost of Conte leaving and freedom that Stellini allows might help Spurs edge this out against Everton.
Everton vs Tottenham Prediction
All in all, I am going to be bold and ride with the Tottenham moneyline and Harry Kane to score anytime. Another play to add is “no” on both teams to score, which offers odds of +105 and has hit in over 70% of their last seven head-to-head encounters.
Everton vs Tottenham Picks: Tottenham moneyline (+120), Kane to score (+115), No on BTTS (+105)
