On Day 10 of the BNP Paribas Open, also known as the Indian Wells Masters, there’s a rematch of a tough Australian Open match we saw just a couple of months ago. The Swiatek and Rybakina odds have Swiatek favored in this matchup for a spot in the finals.
This year at Indian Wells there’s a historically strong lineup slated for the semifinals. In the other semifinal match the Aussie Open champion will be taking on World No. 7 and 2022 Indian Wells Masters finalist.

Can Swiatek Repeat?
The 21-year old has her eyes on the prize, as she’s just a couple wins away from hoisting the BNP Paribas Open trophy once again this year. If Swiatek wins this match and makes the finals, she’ll be the first player to reach back-to-back Indian Wells finals since Maria Sharapova did in 2013.
It was just last month that Swiatek set an Open Era record for fewest games dropped en route to a tournament win. And once again, she has yet to drop a set yet here in the desert. Including only losing 19 games in her four matches this week.

Swiatek defeated her quarterfinal opponent Sorana Cirstea easily, winning 6-2, 6-3. The Pole didn’t play outstanding, but completely outplayed her opponent, and gave her little to no room to build any sort of momentum.
Can Rybakina Defeat Swiatek Again?
The 23-year old hasn’t played her absolute best tennis this week, but she is playing well. She is playing well, and will have some confidence heading into this semifinal match as she defeated Swiatek the last time they played each other.
Rybakina always improving! 💫

The Czech has defeated the likes of Sofia Kenin, Paula Badosa, Varvara Gracheva, and most recently Karolina Muchova to earn a spot in the semis.
In her quarterfinal match, the Wimbledon champion started off strong, but allowed for her opponent to comeback quickly. Rybakina did secure the first set, but Muchova’s momentum allowed her to take the second, to make it interesting. Rybakina ended up winning 7(7)-6(4), 2-6, 6-4, to book her spot in the final four.
Third Career Meeting in Swiatek vs Rybakina Matchup
The head-to-head record between Swiatek and Rybakina is split at 1-1, Rybakina winning their last meeting in straight sets. The two faced off in the round of 16 at the Australian Open a couple of months ago. Rybakina went onto be a finalist at the Grand Slam.

Swiatek vs Rybakina Prediction
This is going to be an exciting semifinal match. One of the best things about watching tennis, is so often there are final calibar matches before the tournament even gets to the finals. And this is an example of that.
Swiatek has been lights out all tournament. There hasn’t been a single opponent that has truly challenged her. She’s spent little to no time on the court, so her energy should be fairly high. Rybakina on the other hand has been tested a few times over the course of the week. She opened her tournament up against a strong Kenin, and most recently was pushed the distance against Muchova.
As Swiatek is the defending champion here, look for her to avenge the Aussie Open loss against Rybakina, and pick up the win here for our Swiatek vs Rybakina prediction.
