Bayern Munich vs PSG Preview
Despite Bayern ending the first leg with ten men after Benjamin Pavard was shown red late on, the Bavarians headed home from the Parc des Princes with an invaluable 1-0 lead. Ironically, the goalscorer, Kingsley Coman, scored the only goal of the game when these two met in the 2019-20 final.
While their advantage is slender, it’s also significant and has put Bayern in pole position to exact revenge for being eliminated at the quarterfinal stage by PSG in 2020-21. The last time the Germans exited the competition at this stage was in 2018-19 when they were beaten by Liverpool.

Omens Good for Bayern
All the omens are good for Bayern who have an outstanding European record at the Allianz Arena where they have won 15 of their last 17 games. Also worth noting is that 2010-11 was the last time they were knocked out of the knockout phase of this competition after winning a first leg.
Julian Nagelsmann’s men are not only flying in Europe, but they have also regained an element of control in their domestic soccer after, by their standards, a mixed first half of the season. They now sit atop the Bundesliga, ahead of BVB on goal difference.

PSG Coach Under Massive Pressure
While Christophe Galtier’s men are riding high in Ligue 1, having recently opened up an eight-point lead on second-placed Marseille, the manager is still under huge pressure from the Paris media, the fans, and the club’s owners. The first-leg defeat was seen as a major failure for a club that has had the Champions League on its radar since their Qatari owners took charge.
Domestic success is not enough for a club like PSG, with its size and wealth, and the only currency the club’s owners are interested in is continental titles, so defeat here for the Parisiens could spell the end for Galtier.
The Messi/Mbappe Factor
If PSG exit the competition this week, it will be the fifth time in seven seasons that they have done so at the round-of-16. They also have a grim record in the knockout phase of this tournament in ties where they have lost the first leg – winning just one of six.
But, amid the gloom, let’s not forget this is a PSG side that has Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in its forward line – a duo who are the envy of every club side in the world. On their day, they are capable of scoring against any defense and so there is no room for any Bayern complacency.

Bayern Munich vs PSG Prediction
Everything points to a Bayern win but the fact this PSG team includes two of the world’s best soccer players has been almost overlooked. While the Parisiens’ defense may concede more than Galtier would choose, they remain very dangerous opponents.
Very rarely is any PSG side in plus money, let alone at +265 for the win, so there is real value here in a wager on the away win.
Bayern Munich vs PSG Pick: PSG to win (+265)
