Eintracht Frankfurt vs Napoli Preview
As winners of last season’s Europa League, this Eintracht team has tasted recent success in Europe and did brilliantly to negotiate a tough UCL group. Their chances of qualification looked slim going into Matchday 5 but 2-1 wins in each of their last two games – against Marseille and Sporting Lisbon – saw them steal second place in Group D.
All of the above adds up to an outstanding recent record in European competition for Frankfurt, who have lost just two of their last 19 continental match-ups – winning ten of those.

Eintracht in a Good Place
Despite a tricky start to the Bundesliga season, Frankfurt have now worked their way up to sixth in the table; their most recent success being a fine 2-0 win over Werder Bremen on Saturday. A key figure in their recent good run has been French international striker Randal Kolo Muani who has scored seven goals in Eintracht’s last six games.
They are also through to the quarter-finals of Germany’s main cup competition – the DFB-Pokal – so it is all systems go in Frankfurt as they look to overturn the odds and take what would be a crucial lead back to Naples for the second leg on March 15.
Napoli’s Perfect Season
So far, it has been an almost perfect season for Napoli. Some simply outstanding form in Serie A has seen them open up a 15-point lead at the top of the table with 15 left to play, and in their UCL qualifying group they won five of their six games to top the group.
Not since 1990 have they won the Scudetto, so that particular trophy is almost in the bag, but such has been their dominance in Europe too, they will fancy their chances of landing European soccer’s biggest prize for the first time ever.

Seven Straight Serie A Wins
Napoli made sure they had momentum coming into this tie with a comfortable away win at Sassuolo last Friday. Their 2-0 win came courtesy of first-half goals from Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen and was their seventh straight victory in Serie A. They have only lost twice in 2023 and one of those was on penalties in the Coppa Italia.
Tuesday’s game is the third time Eintracht Frankfurt and Napoli have played each other in European competition, although those two previous games took place almost three decades ago. For the record, both ties were won, on aggregate, by the Germans.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Napoli Prediction
Napoli are riding the quest of a wave right now and it’s hard to put together a solid case for the Frankfurt win, especially as they have leaked goals so far in this competition. The Germans’ home form is decent though, and its conceivable they could head to Naples with it all square. At +270, that’s where the value lies.
