- You can bet on which players will make and miss the cut at The Genesis Invitational
- Tiger Woods will make his season debut, but has not fared especially well over his career at Riviera CC
- Don’t miss The Genesis Invitational make and miss the cut odds for the top players in the field
Go ahead and call me the fun police, because there’s no way I’m betting on Tiger Woods to make the cut this week. Woods will make his season debut at The Genesis Invitational on Thursday, but there are plenty of reasons we should be fading him.
Yes, he is the sponsor of this tournament, but this is not a track he’s had much success at (by his standards) over the course of his career. There’s also lingering injury concerns to be aware of, in addition to the rust factor.

Oddsmakers are certainly on to a potential underwhelming performance by Woods, as he’s a favorite to miss the cut. He sports -210 odds to do so, which is a vast difference from the price tags of the pre-tournament favorites. Jon Rahm is +750 to miss the cut, while Rory McIlroy is +700 to trunk slam.
Fade Tiger in His Season Debut
A bet against Woods at this point in his career is a wager made with your head, not your heart. Everyone wants to see Tiger back on the big stage, myself included, as the game is simply more exciting when he’s around.
However, we’re not here just to be entertained, we’re in the business of trying to cash tickets. Woods hasn’t played competitively since last year’s British Open, when he lost 8.6 total strokes to the field. His last two events have resulted in a missed cut and a mid-tournament withdrawal, and he’s reportedly still dealing with plantar fasciitis.

Riviera Country Club is full of steep elevation changes, which could wreak havoc on Woods’ foot as he attempts to walk 18 holes multiple times. The injury caused him to pull out of the Hero World Challenge back in December, and he’s on record saying it’s a major hindrance to his game.
Also working against him is a less than stellar history at Riviera CC. Woods has never won at this course, despite playing 13 tournaments here. You’ll be hard pressed to find another course he’s played that many times without winning at. He has three missed cuts in those 13 events, along with a withdrawal and 68th place finish.
Pick: Tiger Woods to Miss the Cut (-210)
Make the Cut Parlay
We’re betting on Tiger trunk slamming this week, but there’s plenty of players we do like to play all four rounds. We need to price sensitive of course, but there’s a five-pack of mid-priced players we want to target for our make the cut parlay.
We’ll start with Tyrrell Hatton and Jason Day, who both sport -380 odds. Hatton was fantastic in his 2023 debut last week, finishing sixth in Phoenix while gaining 10.2 strokes ball striking. Day racked up his second top-7 result in as many weeks at the WMPO, and ranks top-10 in the field in scoring, total strokes gained, strokes gained off the tee and on the green over the past 12 rounds.

Further down the board sits Adam Hadwin at -295. The Canadian has three top-18 results in his last four starts, and has made four of his past five cuts at Riviera CC.
Next up, Keegan Bradley. His pristine ball striking has made a triumphant return, gaining 8.1 strokes en route to back-to-back T20 results.
Last, but not least, Sahith Theegala to round out the parlay. He’s been a staple of our parlays lately and has yet to disappoint. He’s made the weekend in eight straight tournaments, and in all but one of his starts since late July.
Make the Cut Parlay odds: +312
