Bet Morant To Lend A Helping Hand

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant would be a wonderful neighbor, because he’s always ready to lend a helping hand. Over his last 11 games, he’s dished out at least seven assists in every one of them.

Morant has only gone as low as seven assists in two of those 11 games. At the same time, he’s given out 10+ apples in five games.

Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is the top receiving tight end in the NFL. He caught 110 passes during the regular season and 12 of them went for touchdowns. During the NFL postseason, he’s pulled in 21 aerials and scored three times.

That being said, he’s nowhere as efficient at pulling in passes as Morant is as doling out the assists. In his last six games, Kelce has gone for at least 6+ receptions in each game. Twice he’s gone over double digits, including a 14-catch performance in the AFC Divisional Round against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As impressive as that is, on average, Morant is simply the better bet here.

Eagles’ Hurts Rushing to Success

On the surface, this one might seem like a no-brainer. Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is a rebound machine. He is chairman of the boards.

Over the past seven games, Embiid was pulling down double digits in rebounds on six occasions. However, in Philadelphia’s last game, Embiid was limited to seven boards. He’s been nursing a nagging foot ailment. With tough weekend games against the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets, it’s just possible that the 76ers might give Embiid a lesser workload on Monday facing the woeful Houston Rockets.

Meanwhile, Eagles QB Hurts is churning up the ground. He’s carried the ball 46 times over his last four games. That works out to 11.5 carries per game.

In any case, the betting trends aren’t supporting this philosophy. In Philadelphia’s two playoff games, Dallas Goedert (#88) and Sanders (#26) found the end zone first. For the Chiefs, it was Kelce (#87) in both games.

However, in the Super Bowl, there’s been nine safeties recorded in 56 games. That translates into one safety every 5.86 games.
