Two teams in a four-way tie for second place in the Big 12 square off when #8 Kansas visits #13 Iowa State at 12pm ET Saturday at the Hilton Coliseum in Ames.
Kansas (18-4, 4-2 road, 6-3 Big 12) beat #7 Kansas State 90-78 on Tuesday at home for its second win in a row following a three-game losing streak. Iowa State (15-6, 11-0 home, 6-3 Big 12) has lost three of its last four games including an 80-77 defeat to Texas Tech in overtime on Tuesday on the road.
Kansas, Iowa State, Kansas State and TCU are all one game behind Texas (7-2) in the Big 12 standings.
The game will be televised by ESPN.

Junior forward Jalen Wilson has been leading the way for Kansas all season and is playing particularly well now.
Wilson has scored at least 20 points in the last five games, including hitting that figure on the nose Tuesday in the win over Kansas State. He also had eight rebounds and four assists while making four three-point field goals.
Kansas shot 40.7% (11-of-27) from three-point range and held Kansas State to 33.9% (20-of-59) from the field. The Jayhawks are 45th in the nation allowing 40.7% shooting from the field.
Wilson is averaging 21.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists a game while reaching the 20-point mark 13 times. He leads the Big 12 in scoring and is second in rebounding.

Wilson is the second pick in the Wooden Award odds at +650 behind Purdue’s Zach Edey (-450).
Junior guard Dajuan Harris Jr. had 18 points on Tuesday. He is second in the conference with 6.3 assists a game.
Senior guard Kevin McCullar Jr. continued his strong play as he contributed 16 points, 13 rebounds and four assists. McCullar notched his third double-double in a row and seventh of the season.
The Texas Tech transfer is filling the stat columns with averages of 10.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.1 assists. He leads the conference in steals and is fourth in rebounding.
Freshman guard Gradey Dick (14.5) and sophomore forward KJ Adams Jr. (10.5) both have double-figure scoring averages. Dick is also pulling down 5.2 rebounds a game.
Iowa State Betting Outlook
Iowa State is coming off a soul-crushing loss to Texas Tech on Tuesday as it led 59-36 with 12:36 left. The Cyclones managed only one field goal in the last 10 minutes of regulation, then lost in overtime.
Senior guard Caleb Grill made a career-high eight three-point field goals in the loss. He was 8-of-12 overall from beyond the arc but missed his last three attempts.
Furthermore, Grill’s teammate connected on only one of 15 three-point tries.

Senior guard Gabe Kalscheur had 19 points and seven rebounds but was 0-for-6 from three. Freshman guard Tamin Lipsey contributed 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Iowa State was also hurt by 17 turnovers.
Senior guard Jaren Holmes is Iowa State’s leading scorer at 13.5 points a game. The transfer from St. Bonaventure is also averaging 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists.

Kalscheur is scoring 13.4 points and making 1.6 steals a game. Grill is averaging 10.7 points and 1.5 steals.
Iowa State is 318th nationally (66.3) in points scored but 15th in points allowed (61.4). However, the Cyclones have given up at least 76 points in each of their last three games.
Kansas vs Iowa State Prediction
Kansas has won seven games in a row in the series, including eking out a 62-60 victory on Jan. 14 in Lawrence. Dick led the Jayhawks with 21 points and Wilson finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Iowa State was topped by Kalscheur’s 23 points.
While Iowa State has struggled lately, it’s hard to ignore the Cyclones’ 11-0 home record. Look for Hilton Magic to strike again.
