The lowly Orlando Magic (19-31, 6-18 away) are in the City of Brotherly Love on Monday evening for a matchup with the surging Philadelphia 76ers (32-16, 19-7 home) at the Wells Fargo Center. The tip-off is scheduled for 7 PM ET for this Eastern Conference matchup. Continue reading for the Magic vs 76ers prediction.
Orlando is losers of two in a row, falling to the Chicago Bulls over the weekend. The Sixers on the other hand have won seven straight and made a statement on Saturday, beating Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, with Joel Embiid outdueling the reigning two-time MVP.
Magic vs 76ers Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Orlando Magic | +10.5 (-112) | +410 | OFF |
Philadelphia 76ers | -10.5 (-108) | -550 | OFF |
Odds as of January 29th at FanDuel Sportsbook.
The Sixers are a heavy 10.5-point favorite on Monday and have covered in 57.5% of their games. That ranks second in the Association behind the OKC Thunder. They also sit at -550 moneyline odds, while the Magic come back at +410. That number offers great value if Orlando can pull off the upset.
However, Philly has won 10 consecutive meetings against them.

Magic Betting Analysis
Orlando was expected to be a lot worse than 19-31. But, they’re actually just four games out of the final play-in spot and have some intriguing young talent that profiles to be critical pieces for the future.
A heavy favorite in the NBA Rookie of the Year odds, Paolo Banchero is having a fantastic freshman campaign, averaging 20.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game to lead the way, while Franz Wagner is putting up 19.9 points, four boards, and 3.5 dimes. These two are the Magic’s most consistent players.

However, the duo both struggled against Chicago and it showed in the outcome, losing by 19 points. They combined for just 16 points on 6 for 22 shooting from the field. In fact, only one player in the first unit finished in double figures. Moritz Wagner dropped 27 off the bench, though. If Orlando is going to have any chance at giving Philly a run for their money, Banchero and the younger Wagner must show out.
76ers Betting Analysis
It’s safe to say that Philadelphia is one of the most dangerous teams in the NBA at the moment. Tyrese Maxey has adjusted to his bench role while James Harden and Joel Embiid are the best pick-and-roll combo in the league, forming fantastic chemistry. And just days after Embiid was snubbed for being an All-Star starter, he made some noise on national television.

The big man made it very clear that voters made a serious mistake by leaving him off the starting five for next month’s festivities in Salt Lake City, coming out with a vengeance and dropping 47 on the Nuggets. The Cameroonian was 18 for 31 from the field and grabbed 18 rebounds, going toe to toe with The Joker and downright outplaying him.
Although he was the main catalyst, five other players had a minimum of 13 points. There is so much balance in this Sixers rotation lately and that’s a big reason for their winning streak. They’ve also scored at least 120 points in three straight outings and with Orlando’s defense ranking 22nd, this is another prime opportunity for Embiid and Co. to go off in front of the Philly faithful. The superstar is listed as questionable with foot soreness for Monday’s matchup, however. That’s something to keep an eye on.
Magic vs 76ers Prediction
The 76ers are too hot to bet against. But, Embiid’s status is important. If he plays, they cover. If not, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Orlando make this closer than 10.5.
