UFC 283: Teixeira vs Hill takes place this Saturday, January 21st, at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The main event will be a battle for the vacant light-heavyweight belt between former champion Glover Teixeira and rising challenger Jamahal Hill.  The co-main event features a flyweight title fight that MMA fans have seen before, as champion Deiveson Figueiredo and challenger Brandon Moreno do battle for a fourth time. Also on the card are  well-known welterweights Gilbert Burns and Neil Magny who are set to scrap in what should be an explosive welterweight tilt.

Promising up-and-comer Jailton Almeida is the largest favorite for UFC 283 at -1100. While brothers and Dana White’s Contenders Series veterans Gabriel Bonfim and Ismael Bonfim both fight at UFC 283 in their native Brazil. Undefeated thus far in his career, Gabriel is a -188 favorite over Mounir Lazzez. While Ismael Bonfim is a slight underdog at +106 odds versus Terrance McKinney.

Teixeira vs Hill Odds & Prediction

In a bizarre turn of events, former light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira and American Jamahal Hill will do battle for the light-heavyweight strap at UFC 283. While that seemed far fetched only a few weeks ago, the winner of this bout will walk away with UFC gold.

With 20 of his 33 career wins coming via knockout or submission, the elder statesmen will surely be looking to finish the fight. In this case, against a much younger opponent, expect Teixeira to come out of the gate swinging. His best strategy in the UFC 283 main event is to finish his opponent before the wear and tear of being a 43-year old professional fighter starts to show.

Though he’s fought just 12 times in his career, the Michigan native boasts 7 knockout victories.
