The Chargers’ defense is all of a sudden playing its best football of the season, and their recent form, combined with a new QB under center for Indy has us fading Colts skill position players in the Chargers vs Colts player props.

Foles currently has a passing yards prop of 229.5, which is 50 yards less than Chargers QB Justin Herbert. The 2017 Super Bowl MVP’s number one target, Michael Pittman Jr. boasts a receiving yards over/under of 67.5, the highest of any player, and that is simply too high given the circumstances.

MNF Prop #1: Michael Pittman Jr. Under 67.5 Receiving Yards
Foles hasn’t thrown a pass since Boxing Day last year, when he made a spot start for the Bears. It’s fair to question what kind of chemistry he’ll have with the Colts receivers, and expecting Pittman Jr. to produce at a high level seems unrealistic.
Pittman Jr. has failed to exceed 61 receiving yards in three straight games. He’s topped 67.5 receiving yards only three times all season, and just once since October 16th. Last week facing the Vikings, the NFL’s worst pass defense, he mustered only 60 receiving yards, while averaging a dismal 6.0 yards per catch.

LA’s defense didn’t allow a single Titans wide receiver to reach 20 yards in Week 15, and have allowed the sixth fewest yards to opposing wide receivers this season.
Pick: Michael Pittman Jr. Under 67.5 Receiving Yards (-115), 1 unit
MNF Prop #2: Zach Moss Under 59.5 Rushing Yards
Five. That is the number of games with more than 59.5 rushing yards on Zach Moss’ career resume. Of course, he’s never really had a starting role before, but we should be careful assuming he’s going to see the lion’s share of the carries tonight.
Moss is coming off an 18-carry performance versus Minnesota, but let’s not forget the Colts jumped out to a 33-0 lead. Indy is a 4-point underdog tonight, and chances are extremely high game script won’t be in their favor.
.@chargers @breidenfehoko4 suddenly the interior of this #Bolts defense is better and more sound when Fehoko plays the NT. Suddenly the big runs that has shredded this defense aren’t happening #polynesianpower #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/3dtyUZ551t

Also working against him is the fact that two other Indy RB’s are going to see work. Deon Jackson and Jordan Wilkins will steal carries from Moss, and the former Buffalo Bill won’t play on the majority of third downs. That means he’s going to likely have to rely on efficiency not volume to get the job done. I’ll bet against that all day.
Pick: Zack Moss Under 59.5 Rushing Yards (-115), 1 unit

As far as the anytime TD market goes, Austin Ekeler’s price is simply too short despite him being the clear favorite on the board.
MNF Prop #3: Austin Ekeler Anytime TD
Ekeler has scored in back-to-back games, and in nine of his past 11 outings overall. He’s tied for the league lead with 14 touchdowns and is arguably the best dual threat RB in the game. He’s scored nine times on the ground and five times through the air, making him an absolute nightmare to defend.

Player | TD |
---|---|
Austin Ekeler (LAC) | 14 |
Jamaal Williams (DET) | 14 |
Derrick Henry (TEN) | 13 |
Jalen Hurts (PHI) | 13 |
Travis Kelce (KC) | 12 |
The Colts have allowed 15 total touchdowns to enemy running backs, and Ekeler is a serious threat to score multiple times under the primetime lights.
