NFC East rivals jockeying for playoff positioning clash in NFL Week 15, as the Washington Commanders play host to the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. The Giants saw their current winless streak extend to four games with last week’s 48-22 blowout loss to Philadelphia, and now sit even at 7-5-1 with the Commanders, who enjoyed a bye last weekend. As a result, Washington now controls the No. 6 seed in the NFC, while the Giants have fallen to No. 7.

Giants vs Commanders Recent History
Sunday night’s matchup marks the second and final meeting of the season between these fierce NFC East divisional rivals. The Giants saw their three-game winless streak in head-to-head action extended with a 20-20 tie with Washington two weeks ago, and have averaged just 18.7 points per game over that stretch. Despite their recent woes, the Giants have remained a steady bet when facing Washington, going 6-2 ATS in their past eight. These teams have produced uneven results in totals betting, with the under going 3-3-2 over their past eight clashes. However, the total has topped 43 just three times in their past 12 dates.
New York Giants Betting Outlook
One of the surprise stores of the season while marching to a 7-2 start, the wheels have quickly come off during the Giants’ current 0-3-1 SU run. Far from an offensive juggernaut during their early-season surge, the Giants have averaged just 20 points scored during their current four-game slide, and just 20.5 points on the season. But after allowing just 21.6 points per game over their first nine outings, they have allowed 31.8 points per game over their past four.

The Giants looked nothing like a playoff team in last week’s clash with the Eagles. New York failed to move the ball across midfield in its first five possessions, while the Eagles ran up a 21-0 lead and scored on all but three of their possessions on the day.
It is tough to fault Daniel Jones for the team’s woes. The Giants pivot has racked up eight total scores over the past five games, and contributed a scoring pass and scoring run last week. However, he has received little support from an offensive line that has allowed him to get sacked eight times over the past two weeks and 21 times in six games.
Washington Commanders Betting Outlook
The Commanders return to action rested and with a golden opportunity to solidify their grasp on a wild card berth. Washington has stormed back into playoff contention by going 6-1-1 in their past eight outings, a resurgence that has coincided with the team’s move to Taylor Heinicke as starting quarterback. Overlooked in favor of Carson Wentz, who signed as a free agent during the offseason, Heinicke reclaimed the reins of the Commanders offense after Wentz was injured in late October, and hasn’t looked back.

The 29-year-old has shown particularly good form in his past outings, connecting on 64.1% of pass attempts for four touchdowns over the past two games. The Commanders ground game remains a concern after failing to produce a score in the past two games, and could be further hampered by the potential absence of rushers Brian Robinson Jr. and Antonio Gibson, both of whom were limited at practice this week by injuries.
Even with last week’s bye, the Commanders defense is also still struggling with injuries. Most notable are edge Chase Young, who remains limited by a knee injury, and cornerback Benjamin St-Juste, who is nursing an ankle injury.
Giants vs Commanders Prediction
Despite still nursing injuries, the Commanders return to action well rested and riding a wave of momentum that will likely be too much to overcome for the Giants, who have shown their true colors during their four-game winless run.
