Monday’s World Cup slate features South Korea vs Ghana in Group H, a match that could define who gets to the knockout stages. South Korea sits on a single point thanks to a nil-nil draw versus Uruguay on Matchday 1. Ghana did not have the same luck against Portugal, conceding three second-half goals in a 3-2 contest.
As a result, Ghana must not lose against South Korea if they want their World Cup dreams to stay alive, while Son Heung-min and South Korea will see this as their best chance to earn three points ahead of their clash with Portugal.

South Korea are the slight favorites with moneyline odds of +150. Ghana’s moneyline odds sit at a longer line of +210. Since 2011, these sides have played twice, with a win going to each country. The Black Stars won the last match in 2014, thanks to a hat-trick from striker Jordan Ayew.
South Korea vs Ghana Over/Under
Additionally, when looking at the totals line in the World Cup odds, this game is expected to fall in line with the World Cup trend of low-scoring games. In fact, the under on 2.5 total goals sits at a juicy -175. In their last ten combined matches across all competitions, the under at this goal amount has hit 60% of the time. Also, in 26 World Cup matches so far, the under on 2.5 goals is hitting 69% of the time.

Both Teams to Score Odds
Similarly, look for a play in the both teams to score market for this match. This is a play I have consistently started to fade at the 2022 World Cup, as both teams to score has only hit 34.6% of the time. Moreover, in their last eight combined matches, betting against both teams to score has a 75% conversion rate. The odds for this play in South Korea vs Ghana sit at -120, which is considerable value for a trend that is being picked up more and more.

South Korea vs Ghana Prediction
Overall, this match is one of the harder ones to call in the entire group stage. Ghana comes into this as the lowest ranked FIFA team in the entire field, despite putting up a fight against the Portuguese. On the other hand, South Korea are unbeaten in seven matches, but are more than susceptible to a draw. I would lean towards the Korean draw no bet, but at -140, the value is not there for me.
In my opinion, Korea have a defense that can fend of Ghana. The Taegeuk Warriors have held three consecutive clean sheets, thanks to Kim Min-jae and Kim Young-gwon in the middle. They kept Darwin Nunez and Luis Suarez quiet in their last match, which is a very impressive.

On the offensive side of the ball, you have to favor Son Heung-min to score here. He has anytime goalscorer odds of +200, which is great value for a player who has scored four in six for his country. Ghana are frail in defense, which could ultimately be their downfall in this match.
Pick: No on BTTS (-120) + Son Heung-min to score (+200)
