Current Group H leaders Portugal will be looking for revenge on Monday as they lock horns with Uruguay, the same side which famously knocked them out of the World Cup four years ago in the round of 16. The kick-off is scheduled for 2:00 pm ET at Lusail Iconic Stadium. A victory for the hosts would see them through to the knockout stages. Find the Portugal vs Uruguay odds below.
The Portuguese ran out 3-2 winners against a gritty Ghana team on Thursday, where Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player ever to score in five World Cups when he netted from the penalty spot. The Uruguayans meanwhile, settled for a scoreless draw with South Korea.

Portugal heads into Monday as a -105 favorite. A $100 bet would make you a profit of $95. Putting down $100 on Uruguay at World Cup odds of +310 would result in a profit of $310.
The 2018 World Cup was the only competitive meeting between these two sides, with Edinson Cavani’s brace proving to be the difference in a 2-1 victory.

Over/Under & Spread
The total is set at 2.5 goals, with the over coming in at +116. The under sits at -142. As you can see, their last clash hit the over.
The alternate totals list the over/under on 1.5 goals at -250o/+200u, while the over/under on 2.5 is +350o/-480u.
Portugal vs Uruguay Preview
Despite all the Cristiano drama prior to the World Cup, it didn’t seem to bother Portugal whatsoever. Selecao looked very good against Ghana, but it took them some time to find a breakthrough. Ronaldo got his side off the mark in the 65th minute from the spot before Andre Ayew equalized just eight minutes later.

But, Fernando Santos’ men immediately responded, with Joao Felix and Rafael Leao both netting within two minutes of each other shortly after the Ayew goal. Ghana scored one more, but it was too little too late. The only criticism was the shakiness of the backline at times, plus keeper Diogo Costa almost made a massive mistake in injury time, too.
With Uruguay possessing some real finishers in Darwin Nunez and Luis Suarez, the defense must be a lot sharper. Sure, Suarez and Edinson Cavani are older now, but they’re still a threat in the final third.

Uruguay is no stranger to this stage. In fact, it’s their 14th time at the World Cup, which is impressive in itself. But, they desperately need a result here to keep their knockout stage dreams alive. A draw would still give them a slim chance, but the full three points are the ideal scenario. Diego Alonso’s group fought very hard against the Koreans, with both teams going toe to toe.
Despite there being 17 shots between Uruguay and South Korea, there was just 1 shot on target in the entire game.

However, there weren’t a lot of clear-cut chances on either end until Real Madrid star Federico Valverde smashed the post with a thumping hit in the final minutes of the second half. Uruguay was a quarterfinalist in 2018 and even finished fourth in 2010 in South Africa. The question is, can the likes of Cavani, Diego Godin, and Suarez use their experience to guide La Celeste to another deep run? Only time will tell.
What they need is Nunez and Valverde to produce the goods. 1 shot on target is simply unacceptable and won’t be good enough against a strong Portugal outfit.
Portugal vs Uruguay Projected Lineups & Injuries

Portugal vs Uruguay Prediction
The Portuguese simply just have a little bit more quality in the final third and I have a hard time looking past just how lifeless Uruguay was up top against South Korea. Take the hosts to book their spot in the next round.
